The University of Science and Education - UD engaged in academic exchange with Australian scholars on the impact of technology 4.0 on socio-economy

On May 12th, 2025, an academic exchange program was held at the University of Science and Education - the University of Danang (UD), with Australian scholars discussing the impact of technology, especially Artificial Intelligence (AI), on national defense, security, socio-economy and people's lives.
This activity falled within the framework of the annual Australia-Vietnam Defense Cooperation Dialogue as well as the Track 1.5 Dialogue, aiming to promote international cooperation in education and science.

The partner delegation also included Colonel Mick Jansen, Defense Attaché, and officers from the Australian Defense Attaché Office in Vietnam; representatives of the Institute for Defense Strategy and History of Vietnam; experts from the Australian National University, the Lowy Institute and the Australian Strategic Policy Institute (ASPI).

According to Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Hieu, Vice Rector of the University of Science and Education - UD, the university welcomed and was honored to be chosen as the host institution for the academic exchange program between partners from Vietnam and Australia.

Appreciating the significance of this activity in connecting knowledge and practice, the representative leader of the the University of Science and Education - UD stated that it also serves as a forum for experts and scholars to share with lecturers, postgraduate students, and undergraduates from relevant faculties and majors on the application and impact of Technology 4.0 on all aspects of the country, including education and training.

According to Mr. Benjamin Davey, Deputy Head of the International Policy Division, Australian Department of Defence and Head of the Delegation, universities play a crucial role in research, innovation, and providing high-quality human resources in the context of integration and globalization.

Highlighting the significance of the program, the representative of the Australian delegation stated that through academic exchange, all parties gain a clearer understanding of common opportunities and challenges. This allows them to consult and propose directions for cooperation in applying new knowledge and technology, especially in humane and sustainable national defense strategies.

During the program, the University of Science and Education - UD had two lecturers, (Dr. Tran Thi Yen Minh and Dr. Le Thi Thanh Tinh from the Faculty of Literature and Communication), presented specialized reports and shared their perspectives on academic and internationalization issues.
A representative expert shared that the program can be considered an international forum for exchanging knowledge and practical experience, connecting and orienting the application of AI in national defense, education and communication.
