Leader of the UD welcomed and worked with the Delegation from Ubon Ratchathani Rajabhat University, Thailand

On July 8, 2025, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Thanh Bac, Vice President of the University of Danang (UD), chaired a meeting to welcome and work with the delegation from Ubon Ratchathani Rajabhat University (UBRU), Thailand, led by Dr. Watsachon Sihaboot.

The UBRU delegation also included Assoc. Prof. Dr. Theerawut Akakul, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Suntorn Worahan, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Paothai Vonglao, and Dr. Prakaidao Pannipat, who represent various faculties (Education, Social Sciences and Humanities, Science, Business Administration) as well as departments (Human Resources, International Relations, General Administration).

Representing the University of Danang were MSc., Specialist Level II Le Kim Trong, Vice Rector of School of Medicine and Pharmacy (SMP) – UD; representatives of relevant departments (Personnel Organization, Science and International Cooperation, Student Affairs, Corporate Relations and Communications); and representatives from the Office of Science – Technology and International Cooperation, University of Science and Education (UED) – UD.

According to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Thanh Bac, this visit provides an opportunity to strengthen mutual understanding and foster cooperation between UD and UBRU, particularly in the areas of training, scientific research, and international collaboration within the ASEAN region.

The UD leadership provided an overview of the university, highlighting its status as a regional, multi-disciplinary university and one of Vietnam’s leading higher education institutions, comprising six member universities along with affiliated schools, institutes, faculties, and campuses.

UD currently trains approximately 70,000 students and postgraduates across nearly all disciplines, meeting the nation’s development needs (152 undergraduate programs, 49 master’s programs, and 32 doctoral programs).

Dr. Watsachon Sihaboot, head of the UBRU delegation, expressed sincere gratitude to the UD leadership for their warm reception and for creating an opportunity for both sides to meet, explore mutual needs and strengths, and discuss potential cooperation in education and research.

The UBRU representative highly valued UD’s reputation and academic standing, while also introducing UBRU’s strengths in various fields that align with the member universities of UD, such as UED and SMP, which share similarities and potential for collaboration.

In an atmosphere of mutual understanding and sincerity, both sides exchanged ideas and proposed directions to enhance cooperation in training; two-way exchange of experts, lecturers, and students; promotion of academic information sharing; and joint organization of scientific seminars and international exchange activities.
