University of Foreign Language Studies - UD expands cooperation in Korean language and culture training

On June 6th, 2024, University of Foreign Language Studies (UFLS) - the University of Danang (UD) signed an Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the leadership representatives of the Ikchon Gildongmu Culture Foundation (South Korea), opening opportunities for the development of training, research, and exchange in Korean language and culture. On this occasion, the university also organized the First Central Vietnam Korean Literature Recitation and Appreciation Contest.

According to Dr. Nguyen Huu Binh, the Vice Rector of the University, with a 40-year tradition of training human resources in international languages and cultures, UFLS-UD always focuses on strengthening connections with agencies, organizations, and cultural language development funds. Among these, the Ikchon Gildongmu Cultural Foundation stands as a reliable and reputable partner.

This also reflects the university's commitment to continuously improving the quality of training and research in language and culture. contributing to the development of the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and South Korea, with education and people-to-people exchanges serving as a valuable bridges.

According to Mr. Kim Pan Soo, Chairman of the Ikchon Gildongmu Cultural Foundation, this milestone is not only an honor for the Foundation to accompany the University but also a crucial starting point, connecting the two cultures and the linguistic academic communities of both nations.

At the First Central Vietnam Korean Literature Recitation and Appreciation Contest, students and young enthusiasts passionate about literature and deeply connected to Korean culture had the opportunity to interact and showcase their ability to perceive and understand Korean literature and art.

As a result, the Organizing Committee awarded the First Prize for Literature Appreciation to contestant Nguyen Thi Yen Nhi (University of Foreign Language Studies -UD) and the First Prize for Poetry Recitation to contestant Huynh Thi Thuy Trieu (University of Foreign Languages - Hue University), alongside other Second, Third, and Consolation Prizes.

Through this valuable platform, the university's faculty and students also had the opportunity to interact with Korean writers, poets, and cultural experts. This contributed to promoting and inspiring the study and research of the Korean language within the University,  practically celebrating the 40th anniversary of the university's establishment and 20 years of training in Korean Language, shared Dr. Huỳnh Ngọc Mai Kha, Vice Rector of UFLS-UD.
