On September 19, 2025, at the Announcement and Honor Ceremony of the VietFuture Awards 2025 (Future Innovation Awards), a student team from the University of Danang (UD) won the First Prize in the Healthcare category with their project Medipath – a digital assistant solution supporting doctors and patients.

The VietFuture Awards, organized by the Vietnam Software and IT Services Association (VINASA), is in its third edition and continues to attract a growing number of highly applicable, innovation-driven student projects.

The Medipath winning team hails from UD’s Vietnam–Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU) - UD, and includes: Duong Cong Cuong, Hoang Bao Viet, Nguyen Gia Phuc, Phan Duc Huy, Thai Ly Han (all from class 22AD) and Do Thi Ngoc Loan (class 22EL). Their AI-powered platform is designed to optimize medical examination and treatment workflows, reduce the burden on physicians, and enhance the patient experience through digital transformation in healthcare.

In addition to the top prize, students from member universities of UD secured two Second Prizes, one Third Prize, and one Potential Award:

Second Prize: A joint team from three UD member universities - University of Science and Technology (DUT), University of Economics (DUE), and University of Technology and Education (UTE) won a Second Prize for the project Green Storm – an automated seedling potting machine.

The machine integrates a “5-in-1” process: soil loosening, bag opening, soil filling and compression, seed hole creation, and tray arrangement. The automation solution boosts productivity, reduces manual labor, and supports the modernization of agricultural production.

Second Prize: A team from UD - DUE (students: Nguyen Van Tai, Nguyen Thi Hong Thanh, Nguyen Thi Ngoc Dung, Le Thi My Dieu – class 48K30, and Nguyen Ngoc Mai Anh – class 49K18.1) secured a Second Prize with DigiBook – an intelligent e-textbook platform offering a modern, personalized, and cost-effective learning experience for students.

Third Prize (Social Technology & Community Development): A team from UD - VKU comprising Truong The Quoc Dung, Ton That Ron, Phung Anh Sang (all class 21GIT), Nguyen Ngoc Xuan Quynh (class 23AI), and Tran Viet Gia Bao (class 22GBA) earned the Third Prize with ShieldNet – a multi-layer AI system for cybersecurity support and protection. The project is developed in collaboration with the Vietnam Internet Center (VNNIC) to detect and preempt threats such as phishing websites, email and messaging scams, and malicious content.

Potential Award (Artificial Intelligence & Automation): A team from UD - DUT with a project on optimizing energy consumption in urban water distribution systems using deep learning-based pressure forecasting.

Additionally, UD - VKU received the Third Prize in the institutional ranking, recognizing the university’s active participation and strong overall performance, further reinforcing its growing academic and innovation reputation.
