On May 12, 2025, at the Commendation Ceremony for organizations and individuals with outstanding achievements in science, technology, and innovation activities in Da Nang City in 2025, many lecturers and students from the University of Danang (UD) were honored by the Da Nang City People's Committee.

This annual event, held in celebration of Vietnam Science and Technology Day (May 18), recognizes and promotes the intellectual community of Da Nang, including scientists, lecturers, and researchers from UD.

In the award category for inventor groups with patents granted, UD was honored with all three registered groups receiving Certificates of Merit from the People's Committee of Da Nang:

Patent: Modular valve cluster for fuel gas supply and speed control assistance for stationary spark-ignition engines running on biogas/synegas (Prof. Dr. Sc. Bui Van Ga; Dr. Truong Le Bich Tram; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Thi Minh Tu);

Patent: Control unit for spark-ignition engines using syngas in renewable energy systems (Prof. Dr. Sc. Bui Van Ga; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Thi Minh Tu);

Patent: Mechatronic controller for converting diesel engines into engines using lean gas recovered from solid waste in rural areas (Prof. Dr. Sc. Bui Van Ga; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Thi Minh Tu).

In the category recognizing authors of utility solutions granted protection certificates, the solution “Silk dyeing process using natural color extracted from Sophora japonica flowers” by Le Tu Hai (University of Science and Education - UD) received a Certificate of Merit from the Chairman of the Da Nang People's Committee.

In the category for research projects receiving national or ministerial Science and Technology awards, three UD groups were awarded Certificates of Merit by the city's People's Committee:

1- The project "Research on building a database and smart management system for biodiversity of the flora of Da Nang city" by the group of authors: Nguyen Van Hieu, Phan Thi Kim Thoa, Vo Duc Hoang, University of Science and Technology - UD (Encouragement prize of the Vietnam Science and Technology Innovation Award 2024);

2- The work “BINKS Vegetable Ink - The way for green agriculture” by the group of authors: Tran Nhan Kiet, Le Ngoc Anh Phuong, Le Van Minh Tuan, Pham Nhu Uyen Nhi, Nguyen Hoang Thanh Tram, Vietnam - UK Research and Training Institute (VNUK), University of Danang (First prize in the 6th Student Startup Ideas Competition (SV_STARTUP) organized by the Ministry of Education and Training);

3- The work “BCDTI - Environmentally friendly protective film for the scalp” by the group of authors: Phan Bao Thach, Tran Dinh Duy, Trinh Yen Nhi, Nguyen Cao Nhu Hao, Le Thi My Tran, VNUK Institute, University of Danang (Encouragement prize in the 6th SV_STARTUP Competition organized by the Ministry of Education and Training).

In the category honoring authors with research papers published in prestigious scientific journals, UD had 25 authors with 38 articles recognized (out of 35 authors city-wide, accounting for nearly 72%), receiving Certificates of Merit from the People's Committee of Da Nang.

Of which, the University of Science and Technology - UD has 09 authors with 15 articles; the University of Economics - UD has 09 authors with 10 articles; the University of Science and Education - UD has 02 authors with 07 articles; the University of Technology and Education - UD has 03 authors with 03 articles; the Advanced Institute of Science and Technology has 01 author with 02 articles; the UD agency has 01 author with 01 article.

In the 2024 innovation and entrepreneurship awards category, two UD collectives received Certificates of Merit from the Da Nang People's Committee: University of Science and Technology - UD and University of Economics - UD. Two individuals also received Certificates of Merit: Dr. Nguyen Quang Nhu Quynh (University of Science and Technology - UD) and Mr. Ngo Nguyen Nhat Hung (Student Affairs, Business Relations, and Communication Department - UD).

This recognition once again affirms the credibility, capacity, and significant contributions of UD’s scientists, lecturers, and students to the fields of science, technology, and innovation, contributing to the implementation of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW for the development of Da Nang City, the Central and Central Highlands regions, and the country as a whole.
