On May 18th, 2025, University of Foreign Language Studies - the University of Danang (UD) in collaboration with theDepartments of Education and Training (DET) of Danang City, Quang Nam and Quang Ngai Provinces co-organize the Final round of the "Foreign Language Eloquence Star Contest" (FLES 2025).

The competition attracted hundreds of high school students from Central Vietnam, they went through preliminary rounds (from March 27 to April 13), an aptitude interview (May 11). This Final Round gathering 54 outstanding contestants from 42 high schools to compete, inspire foreign language eloquence in English, French, Chinese, and Japanese.

According to Associate Professor Nguyen Van Long, Rector of the University of Foreign Language Studies (UFLS)- UD, Head of the Organizing Committee, this is the 4th time the University had initiated, organized, and collaborated with Departments of Education and Training and high schools for the competition. 

The competition aimed to create a beneficial academic “playground”, encouraging students to practice their foreign language skills, developing specialized knowledge, and deepen their cultural and social understanding through foreign language eloquence.

This is not only a platform for students to demonstrate their intellect and foreign language proficiency, but also a space to nurture and develop creative thinking, foreign language eloquence  and presentation skills, aiming to foster global citizens in the era of integration."

According to Mr. Mai Tan Linh, Deputy Director of the Da Nang Department of Education and Training, the competition has sparked a passion for language learning,  enabled students to explore and conquer new horizons of knowledge.

The representative from the leadership of the Da Nang Department of Education and Training highly appreciated and thanked the University of Foreign Language Studies - UD for their leadership and coordination, along with the accompanying units and partners (RELO Regional English Language Office, National Geographic Learning Vietnam, French Institute in Da Nang, JICA...).

They hope that the competition will continue to be expanded and elevated in the coming time, contributing to connect between general education and  higher education, including the development of foreign language learning movements among students.

In the end, the Organizing Committee awarded 5 First Prizes, 10 Second Prizes, 15 Third Prizes, and 24 Consolation Prizes to the outstanding contestants in the Final Round  with a total prize value of 52 million VND , along with numerous gifts and scholarships from sponsors and partners.

The program's highlight is that high-achieving contestants from this year's competition will have the opportunity to receive tuition fee support scholarships if they successfully pass the university entrance exam and enroll at the University of Foreign Language Studies - UD for the academic years 2025-2026 and 2026-2027.
