Working session between representative leaders of UD and University of Macau, China: Connecting cooperation in training and student exchange

On November 11, 2025, the delegation of the University of Macau (UM), China led by Dr. Wang Chunming, Director of Global Affairs Office (GAO), UM, Professor at the Faculty of Health Sciences - UM had a working session with representative leaders of the University of Danang (UD): Department of Science and International Cooperation, Department of Student Affairs, Partners and Communication. 

Also attending were Dr. Lawrence Hoc Nan Fong, Associate Dean (Curriculum & Teaching), Faculty of Business Administration - UM; Dr. Tran The Vu – Vice Dean VNUK Institute for Research and Executive Education (VNUK) - UD; representatives of the Chinese Department, University of Foreign Language Studies ​​- UD.

At the meeting, representatives of the departments of the two universities introduced directly and vividly through videos the overview and highlights of UD and UM. According to representative of UD, UD is one of four universities in Vietnam selected for key investment to serve as a model for the higher education system (Conclusion Notice 45-TB/TGV of the Working Group assisting the Central Steering Committee on Science, Technology, Innovation and Digital Transformation). 

This is a great opportunity for UD to strengthen and expand cooperation with prestigious universities in the region, including Asian universities such as UM in training and research.

UM's leadership representative said that UM's faculties have English-taught programs and many scholarships for international students. UM is currently a multidisciplinary, multi-field public university in the top 145 World Universities (According to THE Rankings 2025), Top 14 young universities under 50 years of establishment with 15 majors in the Top 1% globally by ESI (Essential Science Indicators).

UD proposed connecting scientists in joint, interdisciplinary research groups; coordinating the organization of international conferences in fields such as Health Sciences, Smart Technology... opening more opportunities for two-way student exchange to enhance the image and international position of each university in the process of integration and internationalization of education.

In addition, the two sides also proposed connecting innovation centers, organizing international academic competitions for students, and short-term summer school programs between affiliated institutes and faculties.

The two sides discussed and agreed on directions to jointly advise the leaders of the two universities to sign a MOU in the coming time, focusing on cooperation in postgraduate training, exchange of lecturers and students, especially in fields such as Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Health Science, Science and Technology...
