On September 21, 2021, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Huynh Cong Phap - Rector of Vietnam-Korea University of Information and Communication Technology, The University of Danang (hereinafter referred to as UD-VKU) chaired an online meeting with Prof.Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Binh - Vice Rector of the Kyoto College of Graduate Sduties for Informatics - Japan (KCGI). The online meeting aimed to strengthen cooperation in the development of transfer training programs and master's degree program.

At the meeting, the two sides discussed and proposed cooperation and implementation of master's programs according to international standards and transfer (3 + 1 + 1) for students of VKU. It was expected that after completing the modules of the 3^rd year, students would continue to study the final year program at KCGI. After defending the graduation project at VKU and receiving the VKU engineering/bachelor's degree, students have the opportunity to transfer to graduate program for a period of 1 year at KCGI to receive a Master's degree granted by KCGI, along with the Certificate of Expertise in the majors studied at KCGI.

Thanks to joint degree programs between VKU and foreign universities, students have the opportunity to shorten the duration of study to complete the Master's training level (only from 5-5.5 years), access to international standard training program in Japan, and be connected and introduced by KCGI to do internship and work for prospective Japanese businesses in Information Technology fields.

VKU also proposed to KCGI to implement a financial incentive policy, whereby 50% of tuition fees can be reduced, along with the scholarships to students with outstanding academic achievements and difficult circumstances in order to have the opportunity to apply and study this program.

KCGI has the strength of post-graduate training in Information Technology

 and application in the field of Industry 4.0

As a prestigious university with strengths in graduate training, including application-oriented Information Technology (IT) master's training, KCGI also has many key international-standard training programs in the field of high technology such as: AI, Big Data, IoT, Robot, Information Security, Cybersecurity along with IT training and research in other fields such as: finance, corporate governance, agriculture, tourism, education, etc.

With the initial agreement, following the visit and work of Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Binh with UD (December 2019), this would be the premise and orientation for the two sides to promote cooperation and contribution to improve the quality of training and scientific research, bring the international transfer joint training program which was expected to be deployed in 2022, bring many opportunities for students and meet the demand for high-quality human resources for the country's IT development strategy and digital transformation process in the new era.
