From June 23rd to 27th, 2025, a delegation from University of Science and Education (UED) - the University of Danang (UD) led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Hieu - Vice Rector, conducted a working visit to the southern and central provinces of Laos, including Attapeu, Salavan, Sekong, and Savannakhet.

According to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Hieu, Rector of UD-UED, the main purpose of the mission was to enhance connections and foster educational cooperation between the university and localities in Laos. 

During working sessions with the Departments of Education and Sports of the Lao provinces, the university’s leadership presented the strengths and potential of UD-UED, which, with a tradition spanning over 20 years, has trained nearly 2,000 Lao students at all levels: Vietnamese language foundation, undergraduate, and postgraduate. This highlights the university’s role and reputation as a center for high-quality human resource training.

Representatives of the local authorities and the delegation exchanged information, discussed needs, andproposed orientations for further cooperation, such as continuing to train Lao students, organizing short-term training courses for general education teachers and Vietnamese language teachers, and strengthening coordination in management and support to create the best conditions for Lao students studying and living in Danang – “the city worth living in.”

A highlight of the mission was the signing of a cooperation agreement between UD-UED and Salavan Teacher Training College, focusing on activities such as teacher training, faculty exchange, joint development of training programs, and scientific research tailored to the local human resource needs.

On this occasion, UD-UED also respectfully invited delegations from the provinces and Lao partners to attend the 50th Anniversary Celebration of the university (1975-2025), which will be held in November this year.
