On August 23, University of Foreign Language Studies (UFLS) – The University of Danang (UD) held the opening ceremony of the online external assessment of English Teaching Program in accordance with AUN-QA standard.

Attending the ceremony were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu – President of the UD, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Quang Son – Vice President of the UD, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Huu Phuc – Rector of UFLS and members of the external assessment team from the Quality Assurance Council of the Southeast Asian Universities Network (AUN).

The ceremony also drew the attendance of representatives from the UD’s functional departments, UFLS’s Board of Rectors, Council and relevant offices, faculties.

According to Prof. Dr. Myrna S. Austria – Chief of the AUN’s external assessment team, the 229th external assessment of AUN is being implemented at 2 member universities of the UD which are UFLS (1 program) and University of Economics (3 programs).

This external assessment is conducted in an online manner to adapt to the context and requirements of Covid-19 prevention and control, but still ensures the objectivity, transparency, fairness and accuracy of assessment. It will support the scientific basis for the university to constantly improve training programs, meet the requirements of quality improvement, sustainable development of the university and serve the interests of learners and stakeholders.

UFLS is committed to actively participating in the assessment and fully meeting the requirements of the external assessment team. Specifically, the team will conduct a virtual comprehensive evaluation with stakeholders (leaders of the university and faculties, divisions; lecturers, students, employers, partners,…); interview and evaluate the related units, activities, services; analyze and evaluate scientifically the documents as required.
