On October 29, 2025, a delegation from UNICEF and SM Entertainment Korea, led by Michaela Petra Angela Bauer, Deputy Representative of UNICEF Vietnam, visited the University of Danang (UD) to meet and interact with students. This visit was part of a broader assessment of the Healthy Cities for Adolescents (HCA) and Youth Agency Initiative (YAI) projects in Danang.

Joining the delegation were representatives from UNICEF Vietnam, the Korean Committee for UNICEF (KCU), SM Entertainment, and leaders from key departments of UD, including Science and International Cooperation, Student Affairs, Partners and Communications, as well as the Vietnam-UK Institute for Research and Executive Education (VNUK).

Ms. Bauer highlighted UNICEF Vietnam’s ongoing support for youth through initiatives like YAI and the Child Friendly Cities Initiative (CFCI), noting the active involvement of UD students in a range of meaningful and practical activities.

The event provided a platform for students to share their ideas, voice their opinions, and contribute creative solutions to social challenges. Representatives from VNUK emphasized the impact of UNICEF’s support in empowering students through competitions, training workshops, and academic innovation programs.

VNUK leaders also expressed appreciation for the continued partnership, which has strengthened resources for students, enhanced their international integration, and fostered sustainable collaboration between local and international partners.

During the session, students and delegates participated in discussions on “Youth Engagement and Impact,” exploring opportunities for increased international connectivity and community-driven innovation.

The visit underscored the commitment of UNICEF and its partners to empowering young people and supporting their role in building inclusive, resilient communities.
