On 21 August, 2025, The University of Danang - University of Science and Education (UD-UED) hosted the 2nd International Conference on Biology and Agriculture (CBA‑2025) under the theme “Sustainable Development in the Context of Digital Transformation.”

More than 300 delegates from universities, research institutes, government departments, industry, and professional associations in Viet Nam and abroad attended the event. Partner institutions included Khon Kaen University (Thailand), Chang Gung University and Ming Chi University of Technology (Taiwan), Can Tho University, Hue University, Quy Nhon University, Dalat University and the Danang Biotechnology Center, alongside the host.

The conference is designed to connect scientists and practitioners to move research more rapidly into smart agriculture solutions and the sustainable use of natural resources, said Associate Professor Vo Van Minh, Rector of UD-UED and Chair of the Organizing Committee.

The agenda mirrors global pressures - climate change, biodiversity loss and resource depletion - set against rising demand for food and higher-value agricultural products. Organizers said the forum also contributes to Vietnam’s policy objectives on biotechnology development and rural transformation, and coincides with the university’s 50th anniversary.

Four keynote addresses opened the event, followed by four parallel sessions featuring 20 in-person presentations. An exhibition showcased scientific and technological products from enterprises, universities and research institutes. Several international cooperation agreements were signed on the sidelines.

Academic content covered scientifically and practically significant topics such as: Genetics and molecular biology; Bioinformatics and Genomics in Agriculture; Plant Science, Biopharmaceutical Biotechnology, and Smart Farming Systems; Environmental Biotechnology and Circular Agriculture; Animal Science and Smart Livestock Farming; Veterinary Science and Disease Control; Aquatic Science and Sustainable Aquaculture; Biodiversity Conservation and Applied Biotechnology.

Conference outcomes are expected to feed into collaborative projects, technology transfer initiatives and policy recommendations supporting Vietnam’s sustainable development goals, while strengthening the academic profile of the University of Science and Education and the broader University of Danang system.
