Speaking at the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu warmly welcomed AUG Global’s leadership to UD, considering the visit an opportunity to initiate and further promote the signed cooperation contents in a deeper and more connected manner, moving toward tangible outcomes.
President of UD briefed the partner on UD’s key overview as a national key regional university, multidisciplinary and multi-sectoral, comprising 06 member universities and 03 affiliated/subordinate training units, with one of the largest scales nationwide (over 2,600 staff and lecturers and 75,000 students and learners).
Over more than 50 years of development from its member institutions, UD has trained a large workforce of experts in engineering and technology, economic management, education, science, and entrepreneurship for the country. UD takes pride in the fact that across the Central region and nationwide, UD alumni can be seen succeeding, contributing, and participating in major projects—making important contributions to the socio-economic development of the region and the country.

With its role, tradition, and capacity, UD is honored to have been selected by the Central Steering Committee as one of four universities to receive key investment as a model for Vietnam’s higher education system. This is a great opportunity accompanied by a high level of responsibility. To achieve this strategic goal, UD always emphasizes strengthening international cooperation and university–industry collaboration in training, as well as making breakthroughs in science, technology, and innovation.
UD’s President expressed his hope and proposed that AUG support UD in connecting with reputable enterprises and universities, as well as introducing and inviting scientists and experts to participate in events and seminars addressing major issues of localities, businesses, and the nation.
Mr. James Kon said he was delighted to visit and work with UD and sincerely thanked UD’s President for the warm and respectful reception. Congratulating UD on its achievements and admirable traditions, especially the new mission entrusted by the Central Steering Committee, Mr. James Kon expressed alignment with the shared strategic vision and cooperation orientation.
Accordingly, AUG and UD have strong potential to implement the signed cooperation contents, creating opportunities for students to develop professional expertise and future careers in advanced countries, including highly regarded universities within ASEAN such as Singapore and Malaysia.

Mr. James Kon also shared that AUG, which celebrated its 30th anniversary last year, operates with a network of partners and nearly 200 personnel across 08 countries and territories. AUG is committed to coordinating with UD to further expand cooperation with partner universities and enterprises, particularly in student and faculty exchange in the context of integration and globalization.
At the meeting, UD’s leadership emphasized UD’s overall spirit of facilitating faculty exchange and, especially, supporting students to undertake overseas internships in accordance with practical conditions and the need to develop competencies and integrate into both domestic and international labor markets. Conversely, UD is ready to welcome and receive international students to study, conduct research, visit, and intern at UD, particularly from neighboring countries with similarities in culture, education, and economic development.
In addition, UD’s President suggested that AUG send experts and help invite entrepreneurs to share experiences and inspire students, especially through the vibrant entrepreneurship clubs across UD’s member and affiliated units.

In an atmosphere of mutual understanding and trust, UD’s leadership cordially invited AUG Global to attend the upcoming seminar on the “Triple Helix” model (Government – University – Industry), expected to be held on July 10 as part of the Da Nang Economic, Finance and Technology Week – 2026, and to connect and introduce experts and scientists to participate and contribute.
AUG expressed sincere thanks, accepted the invitation, and highly appreciated the initiative, while also expressing readiness to coordinate in sharing and promoting information and inviting international speakers to UD’s major seminar.
