The University of Danang - Vietnam - UK Institute for Research and Executive Education (UD-VNUK) honored and awarded Master's degrees in TESOL for the 2023 cohort, with an orientation for the 2024 cohort.

 

On the afternoon of December 12, 2024, UD-VNUK collaborated with Nottingham Trent University (NTU), United Kingdom, to hold a ceremony honoring and awarding diplomas to the new Master's graduates of the joint Master's program in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) for the 2023 cohort.

Attending the event were Dr. Amy Wang - MA TESOL Program Manager from NTU; Dr. Sam Barclay - Senior Lecturer at the School of Arts & Humanities, NTU; Dr. Tran The Vu – Vice Rector of UD-VNUK; representatives from relevant departments of UD (including the Departments of Training and Quality Assurance, Science and International Cooperation, Student Affairs, and the Information - Learning Resources and Communication Center); relevant units from NTU and UD-VNUK, along with 18 new Master's graduates from the 2023 cohort, graduate students from the 2024 cohort, and esteemed parents and relatives.

Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Tran The Vu expressed his pleasure and warmly congratulated the new Master's graduates who have just completed their journey in the international joint MA TESOL program in collaboration with UD-VNUK and NTU.

 

Appreciating the efforts of the new Master's graduates during their studies and research, the Vice Rector ò UD-VNUK stated that this was not only an honor and recognition of each individual's achievements but also a pride for their families, and both UD-VNUK and NTU, marking a significant milestone on their journey to acquire knowledge and achieve new successes.

Dr. Amy Wang - Program Manager of MA TESOL from NTU shared that ”on behalf of the leadership of UD-VNUK, we sincerely thank the leaders of UD, NTU, UD-VNUK, and the esteemed lecturers who participated in teaching and guiding, along with the invaluable support and encouragement from families who have accompanied and inspired the new Master's graduates”.

Dr. Tran The Vu expressed his desire and hope that, with the teaching experience accumulated in practice, equipped with in-depth knowledge and professional skills from NTU's advanced training program, the new MA TESOL graduates of the 2023 cohort would possess the enthusiasm, professional competence, and leadership to guide and manage teaching activities, contributing to positive changes in the English teaching and learning community, meeting the demands of international integration.

Celebrating the new Master's graduates and their families on this memorable occasion, Dr. Amy Wang - Program Manager of MA TESOL from NTU stated that the program, with the collaborative partnership between NTU and UD-VNUK, especially with the experience and expertise of international lecturers, would enable the new Master's graduates to fully utilize their knowledge and continue to inspire students on their journey of language development in English.

"You have brought a fresh breeze, making a positive contribution to the mission of NTU and UD-VNUK to become a beacon for the next generation of English teachers, helping us to be dynamic, creative, and rejuvenated every day in the MA TESOL journey," shared Dr. Amy Wang.

At the ceremony, Dr. Sam Barclay - Senior Lecturer at the School of Arts & Humanities of NTU congratulated and honored the new Master's graduate Le Cong Anh Khoa – the valedictorian of the MA TESOL 2023 cohort; the valedictorian expressed his great honor, gratitude to the teachers and the school, and promised to continue the journey ahead, contributing to the development of high-quality human resources in the mission of teaching and learning English.

UD-VNUK representatives presented flowers to the speakers of the Orientation Program for Studying Abroad in the United Kingdom for the 2024 cohort

On this occasion, UD-VNUK and NTU organized an Orientation Program for 36 students heading to study in the United Kingdom in the 2024 cohort before they embark on their 9-month semester in the UK. According to a representative from UD-VNUK, the MA TESOL program is an international training collaboration between UD-VNUK and NTU – a prestigious university in the UK known for its sustainable educational philosophy and international influence.

 

Building bridges in international education to enhance the quality of English teaching and learning. According to the plan, after 3 months of study and research at UD-VNUK, the graduate students of the MA TESOL program will continue their studies and research with NTU professors during the 9-month semester to complete their Master's training and receive the MA TESOL degree in English Language Teaching Methodology from NTU.
