The University of Danang-University of Science and Technology (UD-DUT) has just handed over a useful innovative product - the Cabin carrying for Covid-19 patients in the isolation area - to the Medical Center of Lien Chieu District, Da Nang city.
This is a product created by Mr. Dang Xuan Thuy, lecturer of Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, UD-DUT and his research team with the aim of preventing and controlling Covid-19 pandemic.

The Cabin-carrying for Covid-19 patients in the isolation area
The cabin-carrying for Covid-19 patients is structured as a negative pressure chamber (ensuring not to spread the virus into the air), fully equipped with a disinfection system, exhaust fan, oxygen tank, lights and warning lights. With aluminum construction materials, the Cabin weighs about 80 kg, easy to move thanks to an electric motorbike or flexibly pulling by hand. Inside the cabin, there is a seat carryingmore than 100kg heavy load.

The superiority of this product not only is transported by electric motorbikes, suitable for transporting patients among buildings, function rooms and campuses of hospitals and medical centers; but also can be easily disassembled to move and pull by hands from the corridor to rooms… The cost of manufacturing this product is estimated at 60 million VND. If there are a lot of people order for this product, the cost can be reduced to about 50 million VND”, said MSc. Dang Xuan Thuy.

The application of the product is really effective and suitable for Lien Chieu District Medical Center, where has an isolation area of F1 and a screening area is quite far away, therefore, ambulance cars cannot go in to pick up patients. This model can be replicated and used in hospitals and medical centers with large campuses, using internal roads to transport patients to difficult areas.
In the coming time, UD-DUT will continue to improve technology of this product to meet the need of hospitals and medical centers as well as transfer to other units having Covid-19 prevention and control demand.
