The University of Danang - University of Science and Technology organized the Engineering Projects in Community Service Forum (EPICS)

 

On August 5th, 2022, the University of Danang-University of Science and Technology (UD-DUT) in collaboration with Arizona State University and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) organized the Engineering Projects in Community Service Forum (EPICS). This was an event under the framework of the Building University-Industry Learning and Development through Innovation and Technology project (BUILD-IT) sponsored by USAID.

The ceremony was organized to develop the university-enterprises linkage through community service projects

According to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Doan Quang Vinh - Rector of UD-DUT, EPICS had been positively contributing to strengthen the university-enterprises linkage, thereby spreading and inspiring students to apply new knowledge and technologies to solve real-world problems and serve the community.

This brought practical value and created opportunities for students to develop their capacity, creative and critical thinking, foster their soft skills, informatics, foreign languages ​​to adapt to the increasing requirements of the domestic and international labour market.

The ideas, solutions and products from this project had left good impressions, contributed practical and creative values ​​to solve the urgent needs of life. With these projects, universities had great opportunities to innovate, apply active teaching methods, improve their capacity to organize and operate training programs associated with creative practices basing on technical projects.

Discussion session

UD-DUT’s lecturers took responsibility to consult, support and accompany with student to join in EPICS competitions held with the national and international scale. Through these activities, lecturers could accumulate experiences and innovate their teaching methods to approach the advanced teaching-learning process in the Industrial Revolution 4.0.

Delegates attending the forum discussed and evaluated the results and experiences from the project implementation; found out new opportunities and challenges and proposed solutions and orientations for the sustainable project development as well as inspired innovation and entrepreneurship spirit for students.
