On April 9, 2025, Prof. Dr. Le Quang Son, Vice President of the University of Danang (UD), and Prof. Dr. Seungjoe Yoon, President of Korea National University of Transportation (KNUT), co-chaired a meeting and signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the two universities.

The ceremony was attended by members of the KNUT delegation, representatives from relevant departments of the UD (Training and Educational Quality Assurance, Science and International Cooperation), as well as leaders from the Office of Science, Technology and International Cooperation at University of Science and Technology - UD, VNUK Institute for Research and Executive Education, and Advanced Science and Technology Institute - UD.

At the meeting, Vice President Le Quang Son warmly welcomed the KNUT delegation to visit and sign the MOU with the UD. The UD leader introduced the university, which is a regional key university in the region, with a training scale of nearly 65,000 students and learners. The UD has received attention and investment from the government to develop into a national university, entrusted with the mission of training high-quality human resources to contribute to the development of the region and the country.

Prof. Dr. Seungjoe Yoon, President of KNUT, expressed his joy and gratitude for the warm reception from the UD's leader and was happy to visit and sign the cooperation agreement with the UD.

He shared that KNUT is one of South Korea’s leading multi-disciplinary universities, particularly known for its expertise in transportation engineering. KNUT is similar to the UD in that both are part of national-level university projects. The Korean government has included KNUT in the Glocal Project, aiming to contribute to both local and national development.

During the signing ceremony, the leaders of both universities signed the MOU, focusing on key areas such as: student and faculty exchanges; facilitating  visits and cooperation between professors and researchers; developing joint degree programs; conducting joint research between lecturers and students; seeking funding for international projects; organizing academic conferences; sharing experiences in education quality assurance and university rankings; exchanging publications, educational materials, and research documents.

On this occasion, the leaders of the UD’s Advanced Science and Technology Institute and KNUT also signed a Joint Research Agreement (JRA), which will open up opportunities for collaborative participation in upcoming research projects and topics.
