On May 24, 2024, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu - President of the University of Danang (UD) chaired a virtual meeting at UD bridge point to sign a strategic cooperation agreement with Ulysseus European University (Ulysseus).

Also attending the ceremony at UD were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Quang Son – Vice President of UD; Prof. Dr. Sc. Bui Van Ga; Prof. Stéphane Ngo Mai – Vie President of Université Côte d'Azur (UCA); Prof. Dr. Sc. Le Thanh Nhan - Director of UD-DNIIT; Prof. Alexandre Caminada - Rector of Polytech University, UCA; senior representative of relevant departments (Training, Science and International Cooperation) and UD-DNIIT.

At the bridge points of Ulysseus member universities, there were Prof. Siegfried Walch - MCI (Austria); leaders of University of Seville (Spain); University of Genoa (Italy); University of Munster (Germany); Technical University of Košice (Slovakia); Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences (Finland); The Univerzitet Crne Gore (Montenegro).

Speaking at the ceremony, President Nguyen Ngoc Vu highly appreciated and sincerely thanked the Ulysseus Alliance and its member universities for facilitating the formalization of the strategic partnership between UD and Ulysseus.

President Nguyen Ngoc Vu also expressed his honor when UD became the first Asian strategic partner of Ulysseus as well as shared that UD always identified international partners as "leverage" and a driving force in its international cooperation strategy. This met and fit Ulysseus' "opening to the world" model.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu affirmed to carry out UD's responsibilities as a strategic partner of Ulysseus, thereby creating conditions for UD-DNIIT to connect and cooperate effectively; direct UD - Department of Science and International Cooperation as well as UD’s member universities and affiliated units to effectively implement the contents of the signed cooperation agreement. 

On this occasion, UD President shared his desire to welcome member universities of the Ulysseus Alliance to UD on the occasion of the 30^th anniversary year of UD’s establishment with a series of international seminars on smart cities, innovation, and internationalization in higher education next November 2024.

Representatives of Ulyssues’s member universities shared their joy and affirmed their desire to strengthen cohesion and aim for common benefits for goals set as the spirit of the Ulysseus.

According to the content of the Agreement between UD and the Ulysseus Alliance, the purpose of cooperation was to promote the fields of education, science and other focuses such as expert, scholar, lecturer, and student exchange programs; Cooperation in international projects; co-organization of seminars, conferences, and co-granting of degrees...

According to the Agreement, UD-DNIIT played the role of a "bridge" to connect and coordinate to implement cooperation contents between UD and the Ulysseus Alliance.

At the meeting, leaders of UD and UCA expressed high agreement and desire to elevate the cooperative relationship between the two universities to new heights, thereby contributing to strengthening the role and positive contributions of each university in Ulysseus European University Alliance network.

President Nguyen Ngoc Vu said that he would create favorable conditions for UD’s member universities and affiliated units to implement cooperative content according to common orientation.
