On August 25, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu – President of the University of Danang (UD), led the UD’s delegation to visit and work with Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City (VNU-HCMC).

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Hai Quan – Member of the Party Central Committee, President of VNU-HCMC and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu, President of the UD, co-chaired the signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the two universities.

There was also the attendance of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Tam – Vice President of VNU-HCMC, Dr. Phan Minh Duc – Chairman of the Council of the UD, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Quang Son – Vice President of the UD, leader representatives of member universities, functional departments of the two universities.

Speaking at the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Hai Quan welcomed the UD’s delegation to visit, work and sign a cooperation document with VNU-HCMC. The President of VNU-HCMC introduced and shared the highlights of development strategy of the national university.

The VNU-HCMC’s President hoped and believed that the two universities will increase the sharing of experience in innovating university governance, building appropriate and effective policies, promoting resources and strengths to develop together for common benefits and serve the community.

For his part, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu – President of the UD, shared that the UD is a key regional university with the organizational system and university governance that have similarities with VNU-HCMC.

The policy of developing the UD into Vietnam National University was included in the Resolution No.26-NQ/TW of the Politburo. The UD also issued the development strategy until 2030, with a vision to 2045, Proposal and Action program to develop the UD into a national university.

This is a basis for the two universities to promote their potentials and advantages, cooperate and share experiences to perfect the governance model and strategy for sustainable development in the new period.

The UD and VNU-Hanoi and VNU-HCMC have a good cooperation, especially when they have coordinated, proposed and implemented ODA projects with the World Bank, Partnership for Higher Education Reform (PHER) project,…

The signing of a MOU between the UD and VNU-HCMC is to promote the potentials and strengths of each side to jointly carry out strategic tasks, national and regional development in training high-quality human resources, scientific research and technology transfer in key fields.
