The University of Danang signed a cooperation agreement with Chung Ang University (Korea) to enhance the exchange of lecturers and students and seek joint research projects

Within the working trip to Korea, on May 28, 2024, the delegation of the University of Danang (UD) and Vietnam - Korea University of Information and Communications Technology (VKU), UD had a working session and signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Chung Ang University, Korea (CAU).

Overview of the meeting.
The delegation included Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu, President of UD, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Cong Phap - Rector of VKU-UD, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Binh - Chairman of VKU-UD’s Council, Dr. Tran The Son - Vice Rector of VKU-UD, representatives of the Department of Science and International Cooperation - UD and the Office of Science, Technology and International Cooperation - VKU.
On the side of CAU, there was the participation of Dr. Sang Gue Park - President of CAU and Dr. Kwang Yong Park – Provost of CAU along with 2 Vice Presidents in charge of administration and research, Dr. Seung Joo Lee - Dean of the School of Social Sciences, who warmly and respectfully welcomed the delegation, expressing their goodwill to promote the friendly cooperation between Vietnam and Korea.
At the meeting, Dr. Sang Gue Park - President of Chung Ang University happily welcomed the delegation and shared an introduction about CAU as a large comprehensive university, established in 1916 and has been operating for more than 100 years, currently having 10 member universities and 16 graduate schools, headquartered in the center of Seoul and Anseong, Korea. CAU is recognized as the best university in the country in the fields of Pharmacy, Culture and Arts Education. There are currently more than 30,000 students studying at CAU. The university connects with more than 500 international cooperation partners.

On behalf of the UD delegation, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu expressed his gratitude for the thoughtful reception that CAU gave to the delegation. The President of UD shared about the UD as a regional university with 6 member universities and 3 affiliated units with more than 60,000 students in all fields, as well as a large network of international partners. The UD is receiving attention from the Vietnamese government, investing in the UD Urban Area Project and orienting to become one of the three leading training and scientific research centers of the country, with international prestige and position.

For VKU-UD, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Cong Phap - Rector of VKU also expressed his thanks to CAU for the reception and said that VKU is the leading university in training in information technology, communications and digital economy in the country. VKU and CAU have many similar majors, research areas suitable for implementing cooperation in the fields of Technology, AI,... CAU has been selected in the convergence and open sharing system in Korea in system semiconductors and realistic media. Dr. Sang Gue Park informed about the key projects that CAU participates in related to the fields of AI, communications, semiconductor chips and expected to co-search for cooperation with the UD and member universities, especially VKU.
At the meeting, representatives of CAU and UD signed a MOU on exchanging lecturers and students, seeking to implement joint research projects between CAU and UD through member universities. In particular, UD hopes to receive students and staff from CAU as well send students to intern and study at CAU to experience the culture, improve their own capacity, improve output quality, and internationalize the learning environment for UD’s students in general. At the end of the working session, UD and VKU hoped that this would be a good and meaningful opportunity to contribute to improving training quality and higher education internationalization through cooperation with leading universities in Korea.
