On December 24, the University of Danang (UD) held the groundbreaking ceremony of the construction investment project of necessary works of the UD in the period of 2018 – 2020.

This project is a part of the UD’s Urban Area in Hoa Quy – Dien Ngoc which is invested by the UD and approved by the Ministry of Education and Training (according to the Decision No. 1723/QĐ-BGDĐT dated 27th June 2020).

The groundbreaking ceremony drew the attendance of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu – President of the UD, Prof. Dr. Tran Van Nam – former President of the UD, Mr. Vo Tan Ha – Deputy Director of Danang City Department of Construction, leader representatives of city’s departments, agencies, People’s Committees of Ngu Hanh Son District and Hoa Quy Ward, Danang city.

There were also leader representatives from the UD’s member universities, affiliated units; the project’s design, supervision, management units and construction contractors as well as academic staff and students of the UD’s School of Medicine and Pharmacy.

Speaking at the ceremony, the UD’s President Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu expressed his joy and gratitude to leaders of the Central and localities for their consideration, direction and support to the UD’s construction project of the Complex Building of the School of Medicine and Pharmacy – UD.

This building consists of 5 floors with a total floor area of 8,127 m2, and is a part of the construction investment project of necessary works in Hoa Quy – Dien Ngoc in the period of 2018 – 2020 with a total investment of nearly 200 billion VND.

It is expected that by the end of July 2022 when the project will be completed, it will meet the needs of training and scientific research of staff, lecturers and students of the School of Medicine and Pharmacy which is expectedly upgraded to be University of Medicine and Pharmacy - UD in the coming years.

The UD's Urban Area attracted the special consideration of the MOET's leaders.

The UD’s President Nguyen Ngoc Vu emphasized the meaning of necessary works’ commencement and regarded it as an important prerequisite step for the UD’s Urban Area Construction Project in Hoa Quy – Dien Ngoc.

The investment project of the UD’s Urban Area in Hoa Quy – Dien Ngoc is implemented not only to strategically develop the UD truly become “one of the three reputable, regional and international-level centers of training, scientific research” but also contribute to changing the new facade of Danang and neighbouring localities, attracting investment and developing high-quality human resources for the development of the region and the country.
