The University of Danang fostered cooperation relationships with leading Korean universities

 

During the working visit to Korea (May 27-29), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu - President of the University of Danang (UD) and UD’s senior delegation visited, worked, and signed cooperation agreements with leading universities such as Kyung Hee University and Chung-Ang University.

The UD’s attendees were also Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Cong Phap – UD- Vietnam-Korea  University of Information and Communications Technology (UD-VKU); Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Binh - Chairman of UD-VKU’s Council; Dr. Tran The Son – UD-VKU’s Vice Rector; senior leaders of UD-Department of Science and International Cooperation, Science and International Office of UD-VKU.

At the meeting with Kyung Hee University (KHU) (May 27), President Nguyen Ngoc Vu and Prof. Choong Seon Hong – Vice President of Kyung Hee University signed a Letter of Intent on the cooperation activities between the two universities on transfer programs (2+2, 3+1) and joint research. KHU is a multi-disciplinary university, ranked at the top of Korean universities ranking, and has many member schools and units.

At the reception and working session, Prof. Choong Seon Hong, Vice President of KHU, expressed his pleasure in welcoming the UD delegation and shared information about the LINC 3.0 project by the Ministry of Education of Korea with a total budget of about 4 billion won and the participation of 50 Korean universities. KHU has been involved since phase 2, undertaking 30 tasks related to local government policies. KHU currently has 4 centers for startups, employment, and technical development, aiming to enhance cooperation between schools and enterprises, based on the design of Capstone Project Tools, connecting with local governments, and linking student startups.,

At the meeting, President Nguyen Ngoc Vu shared the overview and highlights of UD with the Development Strategy to 2030 and vision to 2045. In addition, UD also receives investment from Government to deploy the UD Urban Area Project and is oriented to become one of the three leading scientific research and training centers, with international prestige and position in the whole country.

The UD delegation exchanged, discussed, and shared experiences in university governance; visited the lab for serving training and scientific research of KHU such as School of Electronics and IT; Teaching and Research Support Center; Multimedia Experiment Center…

On the same day, the delegation visited and exchanged innovation experiences at Samsung Innovation Museum, one of the destinations with imprints and achievements in the development of IT, electronics, telecommunications, and microchips in Korea.

On May 28, UD’s President and the delegation visited and worked with Chung-Ang University. On the side of CAU, there was the participation of Dr. Sang Gue Park - President of CAU and Dr. Kwang Yong Park – Provost of CAU along with 2 Vice Presidents in charge of administration and research, Dr. Seung Joo Lee - Dean of the School of Social Sciences, who warmly and respectfully welcomed the delegation, expressing their goodwill to promote the friendly cooperation between Vietnam and Korea.

At the meeting, President Nguyen Ngoc Vu expressed his impressions about the development of CAU, hoping that the two sides would carry out student exchange programs to create opportunities for students to study and experience the environment and context of the internationalization of higher education.

UD-VKU signed with Korea KFIA to carry out joint program in

UD President and CAU President jointly signed the extension cooperation agreement that the two universities signed and implemented in 2015, deepening the key contents such as student exchange, joint training; and joint research projects...

Within the framework of the business trip, UD-VKU signed a cooperation agreement with the Korean Semiconductor Circuit Association KFIA on joint training and research on semiconductor circuits and AI. The UD’s delegation visited the semiconductor chip research and testing room of Hana Micron Group, a leading corporation in packaging and testing semiconductor chips in Korea; and FCK-Fintech Center Korea. At the end of the working visit, UD and VKU had a fruitful meeting with National Information Society Agency (NIA) with deep potential for project development.

Through the meaningful working visit of the leaders of UD and UD-VKU in Korea, the universities could strengthen cooperation relationships in the fields of training and research of key majors in the context that Vietnam and Korea have become comprehensive strategic partners, opening many opportunities to exchange lecturers, experts, and open many great opportunities for students.
