The UD’s President receives the delegation of Wakayama Prefectural Council and Japanese businesses: Connecting human resource supply and demand is a breakthrough in development cooperation

On 28 July, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu – President of the University of Danang (UD), hosted the reception with the delegation from Wakayama Prefectural Council (Japan) led by Mr. Yoshii Kazumi – Member of the Prefectural Council, Chairman of Tourism Promotion Council of Wakayama Prefecture.
Members of the delegation included 27 people from Wakayama Prefectural Council and other businessmen from 52 businesses in Wakayama Prefecture consisting of corporations (USP Japan, Kansai Electric Kepco, Mokuharu), companies (Fujinoyu, Taiyo Netsugaku Kogyo, Shirahama, Fukae Gumi, Takagaki Service, Nanki Umeboshi, Nakatafoods, Seiwa Sangyo, Kushimoto Gihei, Nanki Shirahama),…

Also attending were leader representatives of member universities, affiliated units of the UD (Rectors of University of Science and Technology, University of Foreign Language Studies; Vice Rector in charge of University of Economics; leader representatives of University of Science and Education, University of Education and Technology, School of Medicine and Pharmacy), leader representatives of the UD’s Office of Administrative Affairs and relevant functional departments, centers.
Speaking with Japanese partners, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu expressed his pleasure to welcome the Wakayama Prefectural Council delegation to visit and work with the UD. “This is an important and meaningful event in the series of events to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan”, he said.
The growing good relationship between the two countries is a favorable condition for the UD to continue to improve the level of cooperation relationship with Japanese universities and businesses.
The UD has been successfully cooperating with Japanese universities such as Kyoto University, Yokohama National University, Nagaoka University, Chuo University, Kobe University, etc.; Japanese localities, businesses and associations such as: Wakayama Prefecture, Yokohama and Mimasaka cities; Fujikin, JFE, SMC, Fulltime System, Jesco Asia, Mikazuki, Keidanren & JCCI.
Thanks to that, there is a great companion and support in training high-quality engineers and bachelors, meeting the requirements of working for Japanese enterprises. “Japanese businesses are a reliable place for the UD’s students to intern and work”, said the UD’s President.
Sincerely thanking the help and effective cooperation of the Japanese side for the UD for many years, the UD’s President proposed a number of cooperation orientations in the coming time such as:
(1) Promoting the strengths of universities and businesses in training and researching the areas, fields with high quality human resources such as: tourism, commerce, food processing technology, high-tech agriculture.
(2) Promoting cooperation between government – university – enterprise to improve training quality, create more opportunities for students to receive scholarships, experience and internship.
(3) Cooperating in finding projects and funding; developing, exchanging staff, lecturers, thereby enhancing understanding, grasping human resource needs, promoting the image and tourism of Danang city and Wakayama prefecture.

Speaking to the UD’s leaders, Mr. Yoshi Kazumi – Member of Wakayama Prefecture Council, Chairman of Tourism Promotion Council of Wakayama Prefecture, expressed his joy and deeply thanked the UD’s leaders for arranging time to welcome the Japanese delegation thoughtfully and respectfully.
Mr. Yoshi Kazumi shared his interest and desire to learn about opportunities for investment and development of high-quality human resources; meeting the demand for key economic sectors such as tourism.
The Japanese partners also expressed their hope that this visit and cooperation with the UD will contribute to deepening the extensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and Japan. There will be more Vietnamese students who come to study and work in Wakayama prefecture.
At the event, the leader representatives of the UD’s Department of International Cooperation and member universities (University of Science and Technology, University of Economics, University of Foreign Languages) introduced the needs, potentials as well as proposed ideas, orientations to connect the cooperation between the UD’s and Japanese enterprises.
