The President of the University of Danang received the Attaché for Scientific and University Cooperation of the French Embassy in Vietnam

On February 11, 2022, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu – President of the University of Danang (UD) received Mr. Dominique Laffy – Attaché for Scientific and University Cooperation of the French Embassy in Vietnam.

There was the attendance of Mr. Samuel Délamézière – Director of the French Institute in Danang; leader representatives of the UD’s member universities (University of Science and Technology, University of Technology and Education) and functional departments (Department of Science, Technology and Environment; Department of International Cooperation).

Overview of the reception.

At the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu welcomed the visit of Mr. Dominique Laffy and sincerely thanked the interest and support of the French Embassy and the French Institute in Vietnam for the UD over the past time.

The UD’s President shared the general information and highlights of the UD over the past period. Especially, in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic, the UD has made efforts to flexibly transform its training activities, scientific research, international cooperation from in-person to online mode.

The UD’s President emphasized that the UD always attaches great importance to improving training quality, promoting scientific research and strengthening international cooperation with prestigious partners of which French universities and educational organizations have close cooperation with UD for many years.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Dominique Laffly expressed his pleasure to visit the UD and sincerely thanked the UD’s leaders for taking time to warmly welcome him.

As the Attaché of Scientific and University Cooperation of the French Embassy in Vietnam, MONTUS Project Manager of the University of Toulouse II Jean Jaurès, as well as academic supervisor of several Ph.D students of the UD, Mr. Dominique Laffly highly appreciated the UD’s Development Strategy and wished UD to soon achieve the desired goals.

The French Embassy in Vietnam in general, Mr. Dominique Laffly in particular, has always paid great consideration to the UD by giving many scholarships to the UD’s staff and lecturers. Mr. Laffly expressed that in the coming time, the UD should continue to increase its participation in projects sponsored by the European Union, thereby promoting communication, promoting potentials, demonstrating its international prestige, contributing to promoting Eurasian educational integration.
