Students of The University of Danang - University of Science and Technology and Singapore Polytechnic experienced the 6th season of Learning Express

From September 18 to September 29, The University of Danang  - University of Science and Technology (UD-DUT) in collaboration with Singapore Polytechnic organized the Learning Express-2023 Program (LeX-2023) with the participation of 03 lecturers (Leonidas Chua, Thiyagarajan and Lain Choi) and 30 students of Singapore Polytechnic and specialized faculties of UD-DUT to have practical experience following an advanced education model.

According to Assoc.Prof.Dr. Le Tien Dung - Vice Rector of UD-DUT, this is a program organized within the framework of the cooperation project between UD-DUT and Singapore Polytechnic, which has now passed its 6th season and is implemented according to an international education model to create opportunities for students to participate and experience practical, topical issues from local to global; from there, to be equipped with "Design Thinking" thinking and knowledge, skills, and a willingness to share and contribute to the community.

During the implementation of LeX-2023, students from UD-DUT and Singapore Polytechnic had the opportunity to collaborate on  survey, research and implement practical projects right at the traditional craft villages of Hoa Vang district.

Proposing a practical model suitable to the cultural identity

and natural conditions of local craft villages

 

Students of UD-DUT and Singapore Polytechnic went on field trips, experienced, bonded, learned and shared with local people, thereby learning and grasping some production processes, promoting and introducing products of traditional craft villages; detecting shortcomings, proposing directions for improvement to contribute to improving the quality and efficiency of production and business connecting with the activities of craft villages as well as the development of tourism, culture and local people here.

This was also an opportunity for students of UD-DUT and Singapore Polytechnic to experience and exchange languages and cultures, especially for Singaporean students when they were supported and accompanied by "guides" who were students of UD-DUT, from which we hope to leaving more marks and unforgettable memories for students of both sides on the LeX season 6th  journey.

Through the Program, students of UD-DUT and Singapore Polytechnic could gain access to a multicultural perspective when working in groups and having practical, hands-on experiences close to the local community. This was the first step to contribute to creating an ASEAN Learning Express community as the purpose and meaning of the project cooperated by UD-DUT and Singapore Polytechnic, shared by the representative of Singaporean students.

Overcoming the temporary interruption of the Program due to the COVID-19 pandemic since LeX-2019, the return of Learning Express this time was truly a mark for UD-DUT and Singapore Polytechnic to strengthen connection, promote international cooperation, provide students with learning opportunities, useful and interesting experiences in order to make useful contributions to the community, while enhancing and expanding knowledge, contributing to promoting the image of the country and heroic, friendly and hospitable Vietnamese people, UD-DUT Vice Rector Le Tien Dung shared.
