President of the University of Danang attended the General Assembly of Conference of Rectors of French-speaking universities (AUF) members in Asia Pacific (CONFRASIE)

On October 12, the senior delegation from the University of Danang (UD) led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu - President of the University of Danang (UD) participated in the 14th General Assembly of Conference of Rectors of French-speaking universities (AUF) members in Asia Pacific (CONFRASIE). In the delegation, there were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vo Thi Thuy Anh – Vice Rector of UD - University of Economics; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vo Trung Hung - Vice Rector of UD- University of Technology and Education; and officer in charge of French partners of UD- Department of International Cooperation.
This was a key event held at the ITC Institute of Technology, Kingdom of Cambodia, attracting nearly 100 delegates who were leaders, managers, scientists, and experts from 88 universities and educational organizations of 11 AUF ’s members in the Asia-Pacific region.

With the theme "Scientific Francophone - Leverage to enhance the attractiveness and internationalization of higher education in Asia-Pacific", the CONFRASIE aimed at strengthening cooperation in the AUF scientific community, thereby promoting connection and exchange of experts; institutionalizing cooperation activities and sharing Francophone human resources; promoting the exchange of lecturers and students; organizing and participating in programs for educational leaders and managers; Supporting and promoting scientific publications (in French); Standardizing the quality of higher education and research institutions; Disseminating and applying digital technology in education; Developing professional capacity and entrepreneurship for youth.

At the Opening Session, Prof. Slim Khalbous - AUF Global General Director, who visited and worked with UD and participated in the launch of CEF Danang Francophone Career Center, located at UD- University of Technology and Education, delivered an important speech to affirm that CONFRASIE was a regional forum to promote the development of higher education and research, proposing strategic directions for the common development of the region and global connection.

After the Opening Session, the UD Delegation attended seminars on startups and student exchange at the Francophone Space.

As a key and active member of the AUF since the establishment of UD (1994), for nearly 30 years, UD has had strong development and effective cooperation with AUF demonstrated through many important milestones: Creating training programs in French at UD; Establishing Danang International Institute of Technology DNIIT (with the cooperation of three parties: AUF, UD, and Côte d'Azur University, France);
Implementing scholarship programs, exchanging staff, lecturers, researchers, and students in Francophone countries around the world; deploying many scientific research and international cooperation projects, including applications of scientific products for COVID-19 prevention and control; Supporting and awarding scholarships to UD students affected by natural disasters...
