On the afternoon of July 6, 2021, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Le Quang Son - Vice President of the University of Danang (UD) chaired a participating point at UD to attend the Online Meeting of the ASEA-UNINET University and National Coordinators.

The online session chaired by Prof. Dr. Gabriele Kotsis (Johannes Kepler University Linz, Republic of Austria), ASEA-UNINET President. Attendees at the UD participating point were leaders representatives of International Cooperation, R&D and School of International Education.

Speaking at the meeting, Prof. Dr. Gabriele Kotsis warmly welcomed university leaders and partners to fully attend the meeting, contributing to further strengthening the cohesion and cooperation among members of the ASEA-UNINET Network.

On this occasion, the President of ASEA-UNINET announced the results of the Bernd Rode Award 2020-2021 in various categories, thereby recognizing the members' contributions to promoting the integration and connection between the European and Southeast Asian universities.

On this occasion, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Le Quang Son shared on the Vietnam Universities Development project in the 2021-2025 period, which has received the attention, direction and investment of the Vietnam Government’s resources to UD as well as the two National Universities of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to shoulder the core mission of pioneering and integrating to the world higher education.

With this project, UD wishes to receive the ASEA-UNINET’s attention, support and experience sharing for the effective cooperation projects in the fields of university governance and development of "Smart", "green", energy-saving, environment-friendly university projects, promoting cooperation in training, research and technology application & transfer.

The session listened to reports and discussions, active contributions of members to the action plan. ASEA-UNINET also introduced National funding opportunities for members of the Network from Austria, Germany, Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines and Thailand

UD is always an active member and host 17th ASEA-UNINET Plenary Meeting (2019)

ASEA-UNINET was established in 1994, of which Vietnam is one of the four founding members with the goal of promoting continuous internationalization of education and research, supporting resources for cooperation activities between universities and governmental and non-governmental organizations engaged in development projects, financial support for expert exchange, knowledge and technology transfer for Southeast Asia. Up to now, ASEA-UNINET has grown to 17 countries with 83 member universities, of which UD has always been an active member.
