Fostering the student mobility programs, creating an internationalized environment for higher education

 

 

Recently, with the strategy of promoting and creating an internationalized environment of higher education and international integration as a pillar to have more resources for sustainable development, there are more and more lecturers and students coming to exchange and experience academic and cultural experiences at member universities of the University of Danang (UD).

From November 15 to 19, 2024, UD- University of Economics (UD-DUE) welcomed international delegations of lecturers and students from Lincoln University (New Zealand) and Universiti Teknologi MARA (Malaysia) to participate in the cultural exchanges program.

According to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Doan Ngoc Phi Anh - Vice Rector of UD-DUE, this was one of the cooperative activities that UD-DUE focused on to strengthen connections with partner universities around the world.

Students learned about culture through traditional costume performances.

UD-DUE’s senior representative said that exchanging and sharing knowledge to create opportunities for lecturers and students to experience culture was a regular activity to establish and develop cooperation relationships in the future. This was also a highlight for UD-DUE’s lecturers and students to raise awareness of the role of international integration and cooperation in the goal of improving the quality of training and research, aiming at the global population for a new generation of students

Prof. Christopher Gan - representative of Lincoln University (New Zealand) shared that they were happy and impressed with the dynamism and hospitality of UD-DUE’s lecturers and students.

Engagement activities such as learning about the UD-DUE’s environment and training programs as well as sharing the strengths and cooperation needs of each side; Introducing culture through traditional costumes, cultural performances, and folk games... were the connection between the two universities, aiming for long-term and effective cooperation.


Cultural exchange program attracts many international students

On November 14, 2024, UD- University of Foreign Language Studies (UD-UFLS) organized an Educational and Cultural Exchange Program with a delegation from Anabuki Business College (Japan).

According to Dr. Huynh Ngoc Mai Kha – UD-UFLS’s Vice Rector, this was a useful opportunity for lecturers and students to exchange and share experiences in a multicultural environment. This was a program signed to open opportunities to exchange lecturers and students on the needs and trends of cooperation and development.
 

Create opportunities for students to practice foreign language with native students

A representative of Anabuki Business College said that such programs were the foundation to promote cooperation, bringing values ​​and opportunities to experience, and exchange culture and language for teachers and students, contributing to cultivating a friendship for the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and Japan.

On the morning of November 18, 2024, Dr. Md. Le Viet Nho - Rector of UD-School of Medicine and Pharmacy (UD-SMP), and Prof. Mitsutoshi Hirano - Rector of Otemae University, Japan signed a Memorandum of Agreement to cooperate in implementing the "Global Nursing Internship" Program.

According to UD-SMP’s representative, the signing content aimed to combine training with effective use of human resources, especially in the field of Nursing, by the needs of Japanese partners and the strength of UD-SMP.

After the event, the delegation of Otemae University (including lecturers and 10 students) participated in a Nursing internship at the Experimental & Preclinical Center, UD-SMP as well as actual facilities such as Da Nang Hospital and Hoang Anh Kindergarten from November 18 to 22, 2024.

Thanks to academic and cultural exchanges in cooperative exchange programs between UD’s member universities and prestigious international partners, these are solid steps to form an extensive and lasting international cooperation network, stemming from the common interests of UD and businesses, serving learners to integrate with the process of higher education internationalization.
