On 17/10/2025, Education New Zealand (ENZ) and the University of Danang (UD) co-hosted the Information Session on Postgraduate Scholarships from the Government and Universities of New Zealand.

The event was attended by Ms. Banh Pham Ngoc Van, Country Director for Vietnam, ENZ, Consulate General of New Zealand in Ho Chi Minh City; Associate Professor Dr. Le Thanh Bac, Vice President of UD; representatives from 8 leading New Zealand universities; Leader representatives from the UD’s functional departments (Academic Affairs & Educational Quality Assurance; Personnel Management; Student Affairs, Corporate Relations and Communication, Science and International Cooperation) and UD’s students.

Associate Professor Dr. Le Thanh Bac – Vice President of UD warmly welcomed the delegation of ENZ and New Zealand universities: The University of Auckland;  Auckland University of Technology; University of Canterbury; Lincoln University; Massey University; University of Otago; Victoria University of Wellington; University of Waikato

According to Vice President of UD Le Thanh Bac, The UD aims to become one of the three Vietnam National Universities by 2030, a prestigious center for education and scientific research with regional and international reach. Recently, UD was honored to be selected by the Central Steering Committee for Science, Technology, Innovation, and Digital Transformation as one of four key universities for strategic investment — serving as a model for Vietnam’s higher education system.

To achieve this goal, international cooperation – especially with world-class universities – plays a vital role. UD has established partnerships with hundreds of universities, research institutes, and organizations worldwide. With New Zealand in particular, UD have implemented many valuable programs in training, research, student exchange, and faculty development, contributing to promoting cultural and educational exchange between our two countries.

The Information Session serves as a meaningful occasion to strengthen connections between New Zealand universities, ENZ, and UD’s staff and lecturers — expanding collaboration and contributing to the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Vietnam and New Zealand, especially in education and cultural exchange.

According to Ms. Banh Pham Ngoc Van, Country Director for Vietnam, ENZ, Consulate General of New Zealand in Ho Chi Minh City, The Information Session is an initiative originating from a working session between the UD , ENZ and New Zealand universities in May 2025.

The Information Session helps students learn more about study and research opportunities together, with many valuable postgraduate scholarships from the New Zealand Government, universities and the Vietnamese Government.

At the event, representatives of 8 New Zealand universities shared about their training strengths, types of scholarships and application methods, providing useful information for students. Students have the opportunity to talk with universities representatives to learn more about postgraduate scholarship opportunities in New Zealand.
