On December 30, the People's Committee of Da Nang city issued a Decision to establish the Danang Semiconductor and Artificial Intelligence Center for Research and Training, DSAC (hereinafter referred to as the Center) on the basis of transferring, receiving and reorganizing the Center for High Quality Human Resource Development in Da Nang city (formerly directly under the Department of Home Affairs) now under the Department of Information and Communications.

Microchips/Semiconductor chips are a high-tech industry with a lot of potential,
bringing added value to develop the country in the new era
The Center has the function of carrying out research and design training activities in the field of semiconductor circuit and AI development; technology transfer and international cooperation; mobilized resources, connection and cooperate with domestic and foreign partners according to the provisions of law.

UD President received the Oregon State Delegation (USA) and agreed to cooperate in training human resources to contribute to the development of the Semiconductor Chip Industry
Representative of the city's leaders, Mr. Ho Ky Minh - Standing Vice Chairman of the People's Committee and Synopsys Company, a reputable enterprise in the field of developing semiconductor chip technology and AI, also recently came to work with the UD – University of Technology and Education (December 29).
Also attending were Mr. Le Son Phong - Deputy Director of the Department of Information and Communications; Mr. Le Hoang Phuc - Deputy Director of Department of Investment Promotion and Support; Mr. Trinh Thanh Lam - Sales Director of Synopsys South Asia; Assoc.Prof.Dr. Phan Cao Tho – Rector; Dr. Phan Bao An - Chairman of the University Council and Vice Rectors: Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Le Hung, Dr. Nguyen Linh Nam and representatives of the University's departments, faculties and lecturers.

The Department of Information and Communications received, recruited, assigned and arranged personnel (received from the High Quality Human Resources Development Center) and added resources to a team of experts to ensure the Center operates and would be in effective operation from January 2024.
Da Nang currently has approximately 250 businesses operating in the field of manufacturing, processing, and assembling electronic components with nearly 10,500 employees. In 2022, Da Nang city's digital economy (including ICT economy, platform economy, internet and economy in other industries and fields) contributed 19.76% of the city's GRDP.

UD is ready to train high quality human resources to develop the Semiconductor Chip Industry
Previously, Standing Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Ho Ky Minh also worked with member universities of UD (UD - University of Science and Technology, UD - Vietnam-Korea University of Information and Communication Technology) to learn about the needs and potentials and discuss plans to develop high quality human resource training for the Semiconductor Circuit industry as well as AI.
Representatives of city leaders proposed that UD's member universities choose to nominate and introduce experts, scientists and lecturers/ students to join the Center to accompany in training and research in this field (Learn more here).

The announcement of the Letter of Intent for Cooperation
between UD and Portland State University (USA)
right at the city's event demonstrates UD's high determination
to train high quality human resources for the semiconductor chip industry
With the role, position and tradition of training experience of one of the three leading university centers in the country, in recent times, UD has promoted with 02 National Universities, Hanoi University of Science and Technology, and Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology, in order to establish and deploy the Alliance of Pioneering Universities in training high quality human resources for the Semiconductor Chip Industry (Learn more here).
UD has cooperated with the Universities of Portland and Oregon State (USA); announced the "Letter of Intent for Cooperation" focused on training and research to contribute to the development of this key industry at the Announcement Ceremony of Da Nang City Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050.
