On December 19, the Project Preparation Committee of The University of Danang (UD) Urban Area Construction Project in collaboration with Software Development Center (SDC)-UD held the Workshop "Fostering knowledge of Building Information Modeling (BIM) - Digitalization in the construction industry"

Attending the Workshop were representatives of leaders and staff, lecturers of the Project Preparation Committee, SDC and faculties (Civil Engineering, Architecture) of the University of Science and Technology - UD.

In the Workshop, the application of BIM technology to "digitize" in construction works was a positive trend to contribute to the implementation of application-oriented training strategies of UD’s member universities associated with practical needs of businesses, including project management boards.

BIM technology involved the processes of establishing and using digital models in the design, construction and operation, providing many effective features from design, construction and operation such as management, monitoring and exploitation, BIM expert Truong Quoc Binh shared.

The application of BIM in training activities for construction majors at UD's member universities would contribute to innovation in training, approach the practical needs in current construction.

At the Workshop, experts exchanged and clarified that the development of the Industrial Revolution 4.0 would promote digital transformation in all fields, promote changes in the way of living, working and production with digital technologies, and demand for the construction industry which is not out of that trend.

Understanding BIM could help managers and lecturers update more knowledge about the application of digital technology to serve the teaching, planning and management of projects, typically such as: Urban planning and management; Searching and looking up land information infrastructure; Smart city development, etc.

According to Dr. Doan Anh Tuan – Director, Department of the Project Preparation of UD Urban Area Construction Project, the study and application of BIM technology in the management, monitoring and exploitation of works in which, in the immediate future, the UD’s Executive Building at UD Urban Area Construction Project that had just been announced the 1/2000 detailed plan was a suitable policy.

 Signing cooperation between SDC and Faculty of Civil Engineering,

University of Science and Technology-UD

On this occasion, SDC and the Faculty of Civil Engineering, University of Science and Technology-UD signed an Agreement on cooperation in training, applied research and granting the Autodesk international certificate.

According to the agreement, in the coming time, the two sides would coordinate to organize international training and certification programs on Autodesk.

SDC will train the software specialized in construction proposed by the Faculty and the needs of students and learners, and will issue an internationally valid Autodesk certificate.

The two sides will also cooperate in research and application of BIM technology in the digital transformation process, contribute to bringing digital technology into training and scientific research as well as practical activities in the construction field currently.
