University of Science and Technology – The University of Danang signed a cooperation agreement with 6 other Vietnam’s leading technical universities in high-tech fields

On 5th October, 2024, leader representatives of University of Science and Technology – the University of Danang (DUT-UD) and 6 leading technical universities in Vietnam (Hanoi University of Science and Technology, University of Technology – Vietnam National University in HCMC, Hanoi University of Civil Engineering, University of Transport and Communication, University of Mining and Geology, and University of Water Resource) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on training and scientific research in high-tech fields.

According to the signed MOU, the universities will cooperate in sectors and fields such as: Information Technology, Manufacturing Technology, Telecommunications Electronics, Automation Control and sectors serving green growth such as: New materials, semiconductor materials, urban railways, high-speed railways,... especially microelectronics and microchip design; build a digital transformation infrastructure network to exchange information on learning materials and digital resources; share experience in university governance and autonomy towards digital universities, smart universities,...

According to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thu Thuy, Director of the Department of Higher Education – Ministry of Education and Training, the ministry is seeking comments on the Draft Project on Training Human Resources for High-tech Development in the 2025 – 2035 period and orientation to 2045. The signing of leading universities in the fields of engineering and technology, in which University of Science and Technology – UD plays a core role, has a breakthrough meaning, creating a premise for cooperation in training high-quality human resources to meet the development and integration needs of the country.

Since 2020, the group of 7 technical universities has signed and implemented 9 MOUs with quite comprehensive contents, suitable to the potential and strengths of each university in the areas of enrollment, training program development, university governance, digital transformation, scientific research and application, technology transfer to serve businesses and the community,...

Previously, on October 4, 2024, the group of 7 technical universities, including the University of Science and Technology – UD, also signed a cooperation agreement with the People’s Committee of Nghe An province to promote training activities, improve the quality of human resource, training at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in engineering and technology for the locality.
