University of Foreign Language Studies - UD hosts a cultural and language exchange program with U.S. partners

On June 20th, 2025, University of Foreign Language Studies (UFLS) - The University of Da Nang (UD) held a meeting and exchange program with a delegation from U.S. Representative Offices in Vietnam and the U.S. Navy Band. This event commemorated the 30th anniversary of Vietnam-U.S. diplomatic relations and looked forward to the 40th anniversary of UFLS-UD's establishment, fostering international cultural and linguistic exchange and integration.

The program was attended by Colonel Thomas Jacob Bouchillon - U.S. Defense Attaché to Vietnam, along with representatives from the U.S. Embassy in Vietnam, the U.S. Consulate General in Vietnam, the Regional English Language Office (RELO), members of the U.S. Navy Band, as well as a large number of the university's lecturers and students.

According to Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Long, Rector of UD-UFLS, this event not only served as a vivid symbol of the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries but also bridged cultural exchange and sharing, helping the university's faculty and students connect, integrate, and broaden their horizons with international friends.

The unique artistic and performance acts from the U.S. Navy Band and the university's students left a positive impression, contributing to enhanced cooperation in education, language, and culture.

On the same day, UD-UFLS also welcomed and held a working session with Ms. Polley Mary Elizabeth Rose, Cultural Attaché of the U.S. Embassy in Vietnam and the Regional English Language Office (RELO).

During the meeting, both sides exchanged and shared common interests. RELO expressed its readiness to support the realization of ideas and initiatives for developing training programs, especially concerningthe application of AI and technology in language teaching and learning, foreign language research, promoting training cooperation and enhancing faculty capacity.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Long, Rector of UD-UFLS , highly appreciated  and sincerely thanked the U.S. Embassy and RELO for their companionship and sharing in developing English language training programs.

The strong connection, promotion of cooperation, academic exchange of experts, along with the support for applying technology in foreign language teaching from international partners like RELO, all contribute to accompanying  UD-UFLS in its mission to train high-quality human resources,  meeting the country's development demands in the new era.
