University of Foreign Language Studies – The University of Danang held the opening ceremony of its Center for Information Technology and Learning Resources

On April 26, University of Foreign Language Studies (UFLS) – The University of Danang (UD) held the opening ceremony to officially put its Center for Information Technology and Learning Resources (CITLR) into operation.

Overview of the ceremony.

The ceremony drew the attendance of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu – President of the UD, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Huu Phuc – Rector of UFLS-UD, leaders of University Council and Board of Rectors of UFLS-UD.

Attending the ceremony were also leader representatives from the UD’s Trade Union, functional departments and centers, as well as from UFLS-UD’s faculties, offices, and a number of staff and students of UFLS-UD.

Speaking at the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Huu Phuc, Rector of UFLS-UD, highlighted the significance of the CITLR’s establishment as a “hallmark in the strategy to improve the quality of teaching – learning and scientific research”, which meets the requirements of the university’s development and innovation.

The CITLR is expected to connect and develop the online training system to enhance innovation, improve foreign languages teaching - learning, digitize database, apply IT in training and testing, as well as create a space associated with other language and culture rooms (English, French, Japanese, Russian, Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese) to deploy active and effective interaction, learning - research activities among lecturers and students.

At the ceremony, the UD’s President Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu acknowledged and highly appreciated UFLS-UD’s efforts in constantly investing and developing facilities, focusing on IT application, library development and learning resources to improve the quality of training and scientific research, which meets the needs of staff and students as well as underscores an important step in the university’s strong development.

The UD’s President praised UFLS-UD’s leaders, lecturers and students, at the same time hoped the CITLR’s establishment would contribute to improving UFLS-UD’s role, prestige and academic performance; positively assisting the UD’s development in particular, the innovation and international integration of the national higher education system in general.
