On 5 November 2025, the University of Danang - University of Science and Education – the (UD-UED) launched a Preparatory Vietnamese Language Program and a Vietnamese for Communication course for foreign learners.
The latest intake includes 40 international students, consisting of 39 from Laos and one from Bulgaria. Of the Lao cohort, 21 hold scholarships funded by the Danang municipal government, and nine hold full scholarships from UD-UED.

Welcoming the students, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Tram Anh, Party Committee Secretary and Vice Chair of the University Council, said the university has prepared dedicated faculty and a safe, well-equipped learning environment to support their studies and training.
University leaders said they hope the students will serve as cultural ambassadors linking Vietnam and Laos, and help strengthen ties between the two nations.

UD-UED’s preparatory program covers communicative Vietnamese from elementary to intermediate levels, Vietnamese for specific purposes, and survey courses in Vietnamese history, geography, economy, and culture. Beyond the core curriculum, learners join field activities, capstone projects, and classes on cuisine and traditional performing arts to build language skills and cultural understanding, laying a foundation for future undergraduate and graduate studies.
The Vietnamese for Communication course enrolls 15 participants from 11 countries, including the United States, South Korea, China, Switzerland, Finland, Germany, and Türkiye. It is UED’s fourth such course to be held in 2025.

The curriculum emphasizes practical communication and includes a Language and Culture in Practice module featuring activities around Danang—such as visits to markets, supermarkets, museums, and tourist sites—and campus cultural exchanges like Tet (Lunar New Year) celebrations and an International Students’ Day.
