06/06/2026
The University of Da Nang - University of Science and Education (UD-UED) has strengthened its international engagement through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Capiz State University, the Philippines.
The agreement, signed during an official visit by the Capiz State University delegation on June 3, 2026, establishes a framework for long-term academic and research collaboration between the two institutions.

The partnership reflects UD-UED’s strategic commitment to internationalization and regional cooperation. As a multidisciplinary institution with established strengths in the natural sciences, social sciences and humanities, educational sciences, and teacher education, the university continues to expand its global network to enhance teaching quality, research capacity, and innovation.

Currently hosting more than 500 international students, UD-UED has been actively developing exchange opportunities through academic programs, Vietnamese language training, cultural immersion activities, and international internships. The university views these initiatives as essential to equipping students with the skills and perspectives needed to thrive in an increasingly interconnected world.

Dr. Efren L. Linan, President of Capiz State University, said the visit provided an opportunity for both universities to explore areas of mutual strength and identify new avenues for sustainable and mutually beneficial cooperation. He also praised UD-UED’s dynamic academic environment and its proactive approach to international collaboration, particularly within the ASEAN and Asia-Pacific regions.

Under the newly signed MoU, the two universities will collaborate in a range of areas, including faculty and student exchanges, joint research projects, undergraduate and postgraduate academic programs, and the co-organization of international conferences and scholarly seminars.

The agreement also encourages the sharing of academic resources and educational materials while promoting innovation, entrepreneurship, and the transfer of research outcomes into practical applications that benefit society.
The partnership is expected to further strengthen educational and cultural ties between Vietnam and the Philippines, while creating new opportunities for students, researchers, and faculty members at both institutions.
