15/03/2026

On March 13, 2026, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu - Member of the City Party Committee and President of the University of Danang (UD), led a delegation to a working session and conference with the leadership of CT Group. The meeting focused on cooperation for high-quality human resource development and breakthroughs in science, technology, and innovation.

On this occasion, leaders from both sides signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) focusing on the implementation of a Co-op Program (Study-Work) for students and a Project for experts and professional personnel.

Mr. Tran Kim Chung, Chairman of CT Group warmly welcomed and highly appreciated the visit from the leadership of UD and its member universities during these early days of Spring. He noted that this event marks a new milestone following the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed at the 2025 University-Enterprise Cooperation Forum (organized by the Ministry of Education and Training and hosted by UD). This meeting provided an opportunity for leaders from both sides to engage in deep discussions on cooperation potential, particularly the increasingly tight-knit and effective "Triple Helix" model (State - University - Enterprise).

Introducing CT Group as a leading multi-sector corporation and a pioneer in technology and innovation, Chairman Tran Kim Chung highlighted its subsidiaries at the forefront of core technology industries, such as Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (Drones/UAVs), semiconductors, digital twins, construction tech, biotechnology, carbon credits, and environmental ecosystems. He emphasized that CT Group and UD share common ground, missions, and social responsibilities-leveraging knowledge, technology, and innovation as a "lever" to help the country break through in the nation’s "era of rising”. He concluded that this is not only an opportunity and a trend but also a motivation, a mission, and a strategic choice for sustainable development.

Speaking to the partners, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu, President of UD expressed his sincere gratitude to the leadership of CT Group for their warm and gracious hospitality toward the UD delegation, which included leaders from member universities and affiliated units. He expressed hope that this conference would further strengthen a more substantive partnership, yielding mutual benefits in response to the country's developmental needs and the strategic resolutions of the Party and State.

Sharing his impression of the advanced technology projects and products pursued by CT Group, President Nguyen Ngoc Vu provided an overview of UD as a major center for education and scientific research. UD ranks among the top in the country for scale and quality, comprising nine member universities and affiliated training units, with approximately 75,000 undergraduate and postgraduate students, including international students.

With a tradition of over 50 years of development rooted in its member universities, most notably University of Science and Technology - UD (which, alongside Hanoi University of Science and Technology and Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, serves as a cradle for the nation's engineering and technology sectors), President Nguyen Ngoc Vu  highlighted the studious, industrious, and creative spirit of students from Central Vietnam. He proudly noted that throughout the country, one can find many successful UD alumni holding key positions and contributing to major national projects and the overall development of the nation.

According to Conclusion Notice No. 45 of the Central Steering Committee, UD is honored to be selected as one of the four key universities—alongside Vietnam National University (Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City) and Hanoi University of Science and Technology, which are also UD’s strategic partners—to receive focused investment and serve as a model for Vietnam’s higher education system. This represents a significant opportunity coupled with a profound responsibility as UD strives to rank among the Top 150 leading universities in Asia by 2030, with at least one academic field/sector breaking into the global Top 100.

In an atmosphere of mutual trust and understanding, the leadership of UD and CT Group shared and reached a consensus on a common vision for sustainable development. This is particularly vital in strategic technological fields that require a force of intellectuals, experts, scientists, managers, and entrepreneurs. Together with high-quality human resources, they possess the potential, courage, and intellect to master new knowledge and technologies, fulfilling their social responsibility toward the nation’s development and integration in the context of globalization.

The leadership of UD proposed strategic orientations to strengthen cooperation, aligning with the potential and strengths of each party, particularly in training and research:

Regarding training cooperation: To further enhance educational quality and bridge the gap between academia and industry, and in accordance with Conclusion No. 45 on implementing the "Co-op Program (Study-Work)," both sides will collaborate to introduce and recruit students for internships and work-study positions at CT Group’s subsidiaries. This initiative aims to provide students with "practical learning for a solid career." Reality has shown highly effective results, with students gaining hands-on experience in advanced technologies and quickly excelling after graduation at major corporations such as UAC (aerospace component manufacturing) and Synopsys (semiconductor chips).

CT Group will delegate experts, entrepreneurs, and recruiters to participate in developing, reviewing, and updating training curricula to ensure they align with the needs of businesses and society. Furthermore, in line with the objectives of Conclusion No. 45, both parties agreed to invite and appoint UD lecturers, research groups, and scientists to participate in CT Group’s R&D projects. This includes expert exchange for academic boards, student mentorship, and consulting on research outcomes, technological products, and policies contributing to regional and national development. Additionally, CT Group will provide scholarships to support talented students and those overcoming financial challenges at UD.

Regarding cooperation in Science, Technology, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship: Leveraging UD’s strong human resource potential with nearly 1,000 lecturers and researchers holding PhDs or higher, most of whom were trained in developed countries-UD is well-positioned to accompany CT Group’s strategic orientations in technology and innovation. Both sides can engage in joint research projects to generate added value and measurable products.

Furthermore, to harness the youthful energy, dynamism, and creativity of UD’s large student body in innovation and entrepreneurship, UD leadership proposes that CT Group delegates experts to speak with student startup clubs. This collaboration aims to guide the journey from startup ideas to university spin-offs and startups. CT Group’s support in consulting and finalizing these projects will facilitate their transfer to Idea/Project Exchange Platforms for selection, investment, and incubation, ensuring they are ready for application, especially in spearhead industries.

The two parties also shared ideas for cooperation in establishing technology labs/hubs and providing equipment at UD’s member universities. Additionally, they discussed developing "bootcamps" where students can gain hands-on experience and practice within CT Group’s advanced technological spaces.

The President of UD shared and proposed an international cooperation model based on the motto "One Vietnam - Multiple Destinations." Under this approach, international scientists, experts, and overseas Vietnamese intellectuals collaborating with UD would be invited to visit and work with CT Group, and vice versa, to maximize the efficiency of shared resources.

On this occasion, UD’s leadership extended a respectful invitation to the leaders of CT Group and its subsidiaries to participate in upcoming events, notably the seminar: "Strengthening Substantive and Effective Triple Helix Linkages (State - University - Enterprise) to Contribute to National Development in the Era of Rising." This seminar is co-organized by UD and Da Nang City (where CT Group is also a strategic partner under a signed MOU, currently implementing key projects such as Digital Twin). The event is scheduled for mid-July as part of the "Da Nang Economic, Financial, and Technological Week 2026."
