UD-SMP hosted the International Conference on Biomechanics in Modern Orthodontics

On September 20-21, 2025, the University of Danang - School of Medicine and Pharmacy (UD-SMP) hosted the International Scientific Conference on Biomechanics in Modern Orthodontics (Biomechanics Symposium). The event brought together more than 150 scientists, experts, and dentists specializing or orienting in Oral and Maxillofacial Dentistry from nine countries and territories.

Attending the conference were prestigious scientists and experts, including: Prof. Dr. Lee Kee Joon - Dean of the College of Dentistry, Yonsei University (South Korea); Prof. Dr. Choy Kwang Chul - Department of Orthodontics, Yonsei University (South Korea); Dr. Tran The Tho (Specialist Level I) - Executive Board Member of the Pacific Orthodontic Society, Vice President of the Vietnam Association of Orthodontics; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Nhu Hai - Chairman of the University Council, Vice Rector of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy - Vietnam National University, Hanoi; Dr. Phan The Phuoc Long - Head of the Faculty of Dentistry, The University of Da Nang - School of Medicine and Pharmacy (UD-SMP).

According to Dr. Hoang Huu Khoi, Vice Rector of UD-SMP, in the context of deep development and integration with global medicine, the field of dentistry in general and biomechanics in particular plays a crucial role in improving the effectiveness of orthodontic treatment. This ensures safety, precision, and moves toward the trend of personalized patient care.

The current symposium  provides a platform to broaden academic and professional networks, enabling dentists and postgraduate/undergraduate students to exchange knowledge and experience while gaining insight into emerging developments in the field of Oral and Maxillofacial Dentistry.

At the conference, delegates heard scientific presentations from reputable professors and experts on specialized topics: "Biomechanics of non-extraction therapy" and "Biomechanics of extraction treatment."

Hosting the Biomechanics Symposium not only contributes to strengthening the connection of the high-quality academic community in dentistry and orthodontics both domestically and internationally, but also demonstrates the dynamism, prestige, and academic reputation of UD-SMP within the country's healthcare training system.
