On October 3, 2025, the University of Danang - University of Science and Technology (UD-DUT) marked a significant milestone by signing a cooperation agreement to launch the Network of Training Centers for Excellence and Talent in artificial intelligence (AI) and the semiconductor industry in Central Vietnam and nationwide.

Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Huu Hieu, Rector of UD-DUT, described the appointment as both an honor and a major responsibility. The Government and the Ministry of Education and Training have formally designated the university to spearhead this national initiative, as outlined in Decision No. 374/QD-TTg (February 21, 2025) and Official Dispatch No. 3438/BGDĐT-KHCNTT (June 27, 2025).

This new role builds on the university’s five-decade legacy of advancing education and research. UD-DUT is committed to cultivating high-quality talent and driving scientific innovation to support socio-economic development in Central Vietnam and beyond.
As part of a network of 13 national centers dedicated to Industry 4.0 technologies, the university will lead two of the three regional networks for training and research in AI and the semiconductor field.

The signing ceremony, attended by government officials and leaders from partner universities, formalized cooperation on curriculum standardization, resource sharing, international collaboration, and university–industry partnerships. The initiative aims to attract top talent and foster sustainable development, especially in AI and semiconductors.

For students, graduate researchers, and faculty, the network promises enhanced access to cutting-edge resources and collaborative opportunities, bridging academic learning with industry practice and elevating the quality of education and research across Vietnam.
