The U.S. Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City visited and worked at the University of Danang

On June 25, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Le Quang Son - Vice President of The University of Danang (UD) chaired a meeting with Ms. Susan Burns – U.S. Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City and the delegation visited and worked at the University of Danang (UD).
Also attending were Ms. Elenita Tapawan - Director of American Centers in Vietnam, Thailand, Laos and Cambodia; representatives of relevant departments (Official Development Assitance Project Management Unit, Science and International Cooperation, Student Affairs), affiliated centers and The University of Danang - University of Foreign Language Studies (UD-UFLS).

At the meeting, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Le Quang Son - Vice President of The University of Danang (UD) welcomed the delegation of the U.S. Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City; introduced an overview of UD, which is currently a national key regional university, multi-disciplinary, multi-industry with 06 member universities and affiliated training units.

In an exchange with the leaders of UD, Ms. Susan Burns – U.S. Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City said that they value the role and prestige of UD; wish to strengthen and expand the partnership. This is also a working trip of the U.S. Delegation to Da Nang city to officially launch the Working Group to promote cooperation between Da Nang and US partners, aiming at sustainable development goals based on priority areas, including education and training, human resource development.

At the meeting, delegates discussed and shared issues of interest such as: Developing human resources to meet the needs of society and businesses; Developing training courses and opportunities for exchanging lecturers and students; Granting scholarships to students; Promoting connections, proposing and participating in joint research projects; Connecting to build a training and research cooperation ecosystem in key industries that UD has needs as well as US partners and businesses with strengths in key industries, such as Semiconductor Chips, Biomedical Technology, etc.

In an atmosphere of understanding and sharing, the leaders of the two sides oriented to strengthen connections and develop human resource training in the coming time, contributing to the development of the semiconductor supply chain on the basis of the agreement signed between the two governments of Vietnam and the United States, thereby creating more opportunities for Vietnam as well as Da Nang city to participate in the global production network and supply chain, contributing to socio-economic development according to sustainable development goals.
