The University of Danang - University of Economics organized a Workshop on Innovation in Teaching Methods according to the Blended Learning Model

23/08/2024

From August 5-9, 2024, a scientific workshop on Innovation in Teaching Methods according to the Blended Learning model was taken place at The University of Danang - University of Economics (UD-DUE).

Panorama of the Workshop

According to Assoc.Prof.Dr. Le Van Huy, Rector of the UD-DUE, this was an active teaching and learning method that demonstrates effectiveness like the Professional Development for Blended Courses (ToT program) within the framework of the Partnership for Higher Education Reform Project (PHER).

This method is popular in many developed educational systems; flexible, diversifying teaching and learning media and environments, reducing training costs and suitable for the trend of online and distance training (e-learning) in the current 4.0 era.

Assoc.Prof.Dr. Le Van Huy – Rector of UD-DUE spoke

At the Workshop, the UD-DUE's lecturers were introduced, provided with knowledge, skills and tools to apply the Blended Learning Method in teaching; at the same time, they shared experiences and discussed many related contents such as:

(1) Essential elements of Blended Learning (core components, requiring integration between face-to-face teaching and online teaching-learning) to increase learners' engagement and learning effectiveness;

(2) Basic principles of Blended Learning (flexibility, using diverse methods and tools to meet open learning needs) according to the motto "taking learners as the center";

(3) Advanced principles of Blended Learning (based on training strategy, technology application, data warehouse, from which to design learning path towards personal optimization);

Lecturers exchanged and discussed

(4) Assessing student learning outcomes: Ensuring goals are met, providing feedback for continuous improvement;

(5) Developing a teaching plan: Consistent with course objectives, assessment methods and ensuring learning resources for learner successfully;

(6) Teaching-learning design: Connecting teaching-learning objectives with assessment of results; combining the application of multimedia technology to enhance interactivity and experiential opportunities for learners;

(7) Teaching-learning technical tools: Evaluating and selecting appropriate “smart” platforms and tools to support effective learning.

The workshop was an opportunity to exchange experiences,

update advanced teaching methods and apply new technology

By organizing the Workshop, UD-DUE not only created opportunities for lecturers to exchange experiences, update advanced teaching methods and apply new technologies, but also inspired and promoted the initiative and creativity of learners as well as accompanying lecturers to contribute to improving the quality of education and meeting the diverse learning needs of students.
