On June 21, the University of Danang (UD) held a Conference to summarize the Science and Technology activities in the academic year 2022-2023, and the orientations for the 2023-2024 academic year.

Speaking at the opening session of the Conference, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Quang Son-Vice President of UD warmly welcomed all representative to attend the Conference as well as emphasized the meaning and purpose of the Conference to evaluate and summarize the science and technology activities in the academic year 2022-2023, reward and honor scientists, officials and lecturers with typical achievements in scientific research (basic/applied research and international publication).

This was also a forum for delegates and scientists to contribute ideas and propose workable solutions to promote science, technology, and innovation activities of UD for sustainable development, overcome challenges and difficulties, continue to make practical contributions to the development of localities, businesses and serve for the community, contributing to the development of the region and the country.

According to the report of the leader of UD-Department of Science, Technology and Environment, in the past year, with the role and position of a key regional university, the science, technology and innovation activities of UD as well as its member universities and affiliated units had outstanding, important and comprehensive results: Implementing more than 100 scientific and technological projects at all levels, bringing new results, knowledge, scientific products and its applications; publishing more than 500 scientific articles in prestigious international journals (WoS, Scopus, an increase of 8 % compared to the previous year); The rate of international publications (WoS, Scopus) reached 0.6 articles/PhD; The level of scientific influence shown by the citation indexes on Google Scholar and H-Index increased nearly 2 times; Transferring and applying research results and products to localities, businesses and serving for the community with a total budget of nearly 70 billion VND.

The highlight was that over the past time, UD had clearly demonstrated its role and mission, creating favorable conditions and encouraging member universities and affiliated units, especially scientists and experts to participates in formulating, consulting, commenting, and criticizing policies, serving for socio-economic development. Typically, the National Scientific Conference (UD in collaboration with the Central Economic Department and Da Nang City Party Committee) had proposed appropriate solutions to contribute to the development of service industries in the process of industrialization and modernization of the country. The seminar on the publishment of the annual economic report and the growth scenarios of Danang city in 2022 of UD- University of Economics continued to be the "destination" of international and domestic prestigious scientific events and seminars.

Speaking at the Conference, Assoc. These results were the efforts of UD’s member universities and affiliated units, especially the enthusiasm and wisdom of scientists, officials, lecturers and of UD; the support and companionship of agencies and organizations from the central to locality, businesses, and communities.
