From the field that inspires creativity and young entrepreneurship

The "Start-up Runway" Contest for start-up students was a large field initiated, in cooperation between the University of Economics - UD and Cork Institute of Technology sponsored by the Irish Government anually from 2016 to present.

This prestigious contest brought together hundreds of creative start-up ideas in all fields of students of UD’s member universities (expanding to universities in the Central Highlands region), supported to develop into start-up projects through workshops, coaching and sharing experiences from passionate experts and lecturers.

According to Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Manh Toan – Rector of University of Economics-UD:"Inspire - Build the Future" is a slogan showing that the University really attaches great importance to fostering the entrepreneurial spirit for students so that they have the opportunity to create their future, because start-ups are not just start-ups but also creativity, that will also bring more values, jobs and income for themselves and the community".

Technology Start-up Contest for UD’s students (InTE_UD 2021) was held for the first time, launched on the occasion of the 90^th anniversary of the Youth Union establishment for UD’s students and students of universities, colleges and high schools in Da Nang city, which aimed to stimulate and support ideas of advanced technology application, bring innovative products and services that were feasible and effective to meet the needs of reality.

This was a new field that promises to satisfy the passion of technology creation, inheritance and continuation of inspiration and successes of UD’s students such as "BKTechshow" (Exhibition of research science and technology products of students from University of Science and Technology-UD) or "U-Invent" (Technology Innovation Contest of VN-UK Institute for Research and Executive Education-UD for high school students on the platform of STEM education), etc.

Smart glasses "MultiGlass", the original device to enable people with disabilities to use the computer (with eye and head movements) has gradually been developed into an anti-drowsiness device that warns against traffic accidents for drivers... of Le Anh Tien - a former student of University of Science and Technology-UD (now Director of Chatbot Vietnam Company), which has led him to a chain of success: Honored to be a young delegate to attend the 13^th National Party Congress; Top 20 typical ASEAN students met the leaders of the 36^th ASEAN Summit; Top 10 typical young faces of Vietnam in 2019...

Former student Le Anh Tien won Techfest Vietnam-2019 Cup with MultiGlass  

Chatbot virtual assistant, an automatic chat tool on the message platform of Facebook, Skype, Zalo... by Nguyen Van Minh Duc-a former student of University of Science and Education-UD (now Director of Hekate Technology Joint Stock Company) had been able to persuade Da Nang government to deploy and apply in the field of tourism and public services, impress many delegates and visitors attending the "APEC Vietnam Summit - 2017".

Start-up project to create a chain of products from cricket flour (cricket biscuits, cricket sandwiches, crickets...) of the Hult Prize Champion of University of Foreign Language Studies-UD 2020 with a group of students (Thu Ha, Phuoc Dat, Uyen Nhi and Diem Hang) persuaded by ensuring the nutritional value, satisfying the needs and tastes of young customers.

Start-up project "Pennywort milk supplemented with Isoflavone essence" of Hult Prize 2020 Champion of University of Science and Technology-UD with a group of students "Laurel" (Bich Phuong, Bao Long, Chi Tai, Xuan Nhi) persuaded by the potential to bring economic and nutritional value (thanks to the combination of pennywort with soy bean and cashew nuts), which has a meaningful community help to deal with the "output" for natural raw materials pennywort from Quang Tho, Thua Thien Hue.

Both of these projects of UD’ students will be honored to participate in the Hult Prize-Asean International Students Start-up Contest (April 2021).
