The University of Danang held international workshop on climate change and disaster risk reduction in Asia

On 19th September, the University of Danang (UD) in collaboration with Kansai International University (Japan) organized a workshop on climate change and disaster risk reduction in Asia. This is an event within the framework of the Asian Cooperative Program (ACP).

Attending the workshop were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Quang Son – Vice President of the UD, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hamana Atsushi – President of Kansai International University, Dr. Yosef Daryanto – Vice President of Atma Jaya Yogyakarta (Indonesia), Dr. Vu Thi Bich Hau – Vice Director of Danang’s Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, leader representatives from the UD’s functional departments.

There was also the participation of scientists, experts from Vietnam, Malaysia, Japan, etc.

Overview of the workshop.

The workshop is an opportunity to connect a network of scientists, researchers and lecturers from Asian universities, thereby proposing effective, sustainable scientific solutions to proactively adapt to climate change and natural disaster risk reduction.

At the workshop, the participants listened to and discussed scientific presentations from experts and researchers such as: “Challenges for higher education and the role of university members of ACP” by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hamana Atsushi, “Natural disaster risks reduction in Danang” by Dr. Hoang Hai, etc.
