On May 6th and 7th, 2025, the delegation from the Consulate General of the Lao People's Democratic Republic in Da Nang City visited and worked with member schools of the University of Da Nang (UD): the University of Economics, the University of Science and Education, and the University of Foreign Language Studies.

According to Ms. Lienseng Phensavath, the Consulate in charge of Education and Culture, this visit and working session aimed to enhance information exchange and understand the learning and living situation of Lao students at the University of Da Nang, which has been a prestigious and reliable training institution for many years.

This was also an opportunity to introduce Assoc. Prof. Dr. Khanthaly Khamphilavong, the new Consulate in charge of Education and Culture of the Consulate General of the Lao People's Democratic Republic in Da Nang, to visit and establish cooperative relationships in education, training, and cultural exchange with member universities that have a large number of Lao students studying and conducting research.

According to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Long, Rector of the University of Foreign Language Studies - UD, the University hoped to continue fostering and developing the educational cooperation relationship between Vietnam and Laos through the important role of the Lao Consulate General in Da Nang.

The University of Foreign Language Studies - UD trained many international students, including Lao students with scholarship policies and opportunities for learning and living in a diverse academic environment.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Doan Ngoc Phi Anh, Vice Rector of the University of Economics - UD, stated that the University always created the best conditions for international students, especially Lao students who constitute the largest number studying and living there, thereby contributing to strengthening the special traditional solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.

During the working session, both sides shared common concerns and affirmed their commitment to strengthening information exchange and providing comprehensive support for the training of Lao students at the University of Economics – UD  as well as other member universities of UD.

According to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyễn Văn Hiếu, Vice Rector of the University of Science and Education - UD, with nearly 25 years of tradition in training Lao students, the University is also a reliable destination for teaching Vietnamese to international students, the majority of whom are Lao students before moving on to specialized training at member universities of the University of Danang,  including the University of Science and Education – UD.

The University respectfully thanked  the leaders of the Consulate General as well as Ms. Lienseng Phensavath personally for their support and companionship with the University over the past time. The leaders of the member universities of UD welcomed and expressed their hope and belief that Assoc. Prof. Dr. Khanthaly Khamphilavong will continue her important role as a bridge, helping more and more Lao students to study at UD.
