Students from the University of Science and Technology - UD achieve outstanding results at the 35th National Mechanics Olympiad

Recently, at the 35th National Mechanics Olympiad, students from the University of Science and Technology - The University of Danang (DUT–UD) achieved remarkable success with a total of 48 individual awards, including 2 First Prizes, 6 Second Prizes, 26 Third Prizes, 15 Consolation Prizes, and 1 Second Prize in the team competition.

According to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyễn Phong Điền - Vice President of the Vietnam Association of Mechanics and Head of the Organizing Committee, this is a prestigious and long-standing competition co-organized by the Vietnam Association of Mechanics and the Ministry of Education and Training.

The event aims to identify and nurture talents and experts in the field of mechanics - a fundamental pillar in many technical and technological disciplines.

This year’s Olympiad featured 8 subjects and attracted over 700 students from most universities and research institutes across the country, within the dynamic context of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

According to representatives of DUT-UD, the university’s student teams were carefully selected and trained before participating in the regional qualifying round. DUT-UD hosted the Central Region competition which is one of three regional rounds held across the North, Central, and South of Vietnam.

With the spirit of “passion - confidence - conquering challenges,” DUT-UD’s Mechanics Olympiad teams left a strong impression with 2 First Prizes (in Structural Mechanics and Strength of Materials), 6 Second Prizes (including 3 in Structural Mechanics, 1 in Strength of Materials, 1 in Hydraulics, and 1 team Second Prize in Structural Mechanics), along with 26 Third Prizes and 15 Consolation Prizes.

This impressive achievement is a vivid testament to the students’ dedication and effort, supported by the thoughtful guidance and encouragement from the university's leadership and faculty. It reflects a dynamic learning environment, rigorous preparation, team spirit, and the shared aspiration for excellence in education and research at DUT-UD.

It is hoped that these accomplishments will not only inspire academic passion and empower future young talents in the field of mechanics but also continue to uphold the legacy, reputation, and academic prestige of the University of Science and Technology - The University of Danang, which proudly celebrates over 50 years of development and growth.
