Seminar "Career Orientation in the Field of Integrated Circuit Design" - Inspiring Future Generations of Young Engineers Through Expertise

On November 25, 2025, at the University of Science and Technology - The University of Danang (DUT-UD), an academic seminar titled "Career Orientation in the Field of Integrated Circuit Design" took place with the participation of expert Tuan Nguyen – Former Senior Director of Engineering at Microsoft and Founder of Diancom Foundation.
According to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hong Hai - Vice Rector of UD-DUT, training and research in semiconductor IC design have been a strategic focus of the university in recent years, contributing to the supply of high-quality human resources for the development of the semiconductor industry ecosystem in the city, the region, and the nation.
A recent highlight is that UD-DUT has been assigned the lead role for the Central Vietnam Regional Network of Centers for Excellence and Talents in 4.0 Technology in the fields of “Artificial Intelligence” and “Semiconductor Industry” (Decision No. 374/QĐ-TTg) (See more news here).

According to expert Tuan Nguyen, these are high-tech fields with great potential and development opportunities for integration into the global production network and supply chain. With the foundation of knowledge and skills provided by the University, coupled with passion and a desire to learn, students of DUT-UD can fully rise up to seize opportunities and master new knowledge and technologies.
At the program, updated information on career opportunities in the semiconductor chip field, such as job positions in IC Design and Verification, highlighted the role and potential of engineering teams like RTLand Design Verification, among others.
These are highly specialized areas that demand logical thinking, creativity, simulation capabilities, along with a professional attitude and a proactive commitment to continuous learning for professional growth in a production environment.

In addition, detailed advice and experiences were shared by the expert, including strategies for studying SystemVerilog, preparing application portfolios, and improving English proficiency, all aimed at orienting and inspiring students.
According to information from the university, specialized training courses on Digital RTL Design with SystemVerilog are also being accompanied and guided by a team of international experts and lecturers from UD-DUT. These courses provide foundational knowledge, practical exercises in RTL design and verification, and training in SystemVerilog simulation and programming according to industrial standards in the semiconductor sector.
