On the morning of November 30^th, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu - President of the University of Danang (UD) welcomed and worked with delegation of Andrews University (AU) led by Ms. Andrea Luxton - President of AU, USA.

Attending the meeting, there were also Dr. Alayne Thorpe - Associate Provost for Graduate Education cum Dean of College of Education & International Service; Dr. Kimberly Pichot – Dean of College of Professions; Dr. Nguyen Viet Anh - Programs Director; Mr. Bordes Henry Saturne-Leadership Department Chair Associate Professor of Educational Leadership; leaders of UD-University of Economics, UD-Vietnam-Korea University of Information and Communication Technology and UD-VN-UK Institute of Research and Executive Education and UD’s relevant departments (International Cooperation; Science, Technology and Environment).

At the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu welcomed Dr. Andrea Luxton - President of AU and the delegation to visit and work with UD, as well as briefly introduced overview and highlights of UD, a key regional university of the nation with 06 member universities and 07 affiliated units with a tradition of nearly 50 years of construction and development.

According to President Nguyen Ngoc Vu, the Vietnamese government directs to invest and develop UD into a leading center of training and scientific research in the country, undertaking the mission of training and supplying high quality human resources. With its mission and development strategy, UD attaches great importance to constantly improve the quality of training and scientific research - a key factor for sustainable development.

“To realize this goal, UD focuses on strengthening international cooperation with businesses, especially with prestigious universities all over the world ... Recently, the UD has been actively participating in Partnership for Higher Education Reform (PHER) funded by USAID. This is a favorable condition to strengthen cooperation, sharing, experiences with prestigious universities, including Andrews University”, shared President Nguyen Ngoc Vu.

According to President Andrea Luxton, Andrews University specializes in undergraduate and postgraduate training and research in the fields of engineering-technology and educational science with several programs implemented in Vietnam (Global Program, Leadership Program, etc.)

At the meeting, AU’s President expressed her pleasure and impression at the respectful reception of UD’s leaders and highly appreciated that Vietnam has high - qualified human resources and suitable students to co-develop in the upcoming time, especially with lecturers and students exchange programs, culture and language exchange program.

In the atmosphere of understanding and sharing, Presidents of the two universities recognized the goodwill, highly appreciated the potential and opportunities for cooperation to promote strengths towards mutual benefits.

UD’s President Nguyen Ngoc Vu assigned leaders of UD’s member universities (UD-University of Economics, UD-Vietnam-Korea University of Information and Communication Technology, UD-Vietnam-UK Institute of Research and Executive Education) to actively discuss and develop the cooperation relationship with AU through contact point of UD’s Department of International Cooperation. Besides, UD would create all conditions to soon realize the policy and wishes of the leaders of the two sides, especially in post-graduate training programs, lecturers and students mobility.
