On November 5, 2024, at Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine, Ho Chi Minh City, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu - President of The University of Danang (UD) attended the 15^th Conference of Rectors of member universities of the Francophone University Organization (AUF) in the Asia-Pacific region (C2R-AP) chaired by Prof. Slim Khalbous - Global Director General of AUF.

The event was attended by Assoc.Prof.Dr. Hoang Minh Son - Deputy Minister of Education and Training and more than 100 delegates who are leaders of universities, colleges, institutes/ research centers from nearly 60 countries and territories in the Asia-Pacific region with the theme: "Academic and professional exchange in the Francophone space".

In recent years, UD in general and its member universities in particular have had practical and effective cooperation activities and results with the AUF Organization. In terms of training, typical examples are the "Project to Improve and Develop the Online Training System" (UD-University of Science and Technology, 2020); "Implementing the Open and Distance Learning Platform (FOAD) for Digital Tools Courses in Mechanical Design" (UD-University of Technology and Education, 2022);

Regarding research and innovation, there are many typical topics, projects and applied products such as "Toxin Checker Project - Food toxic detection system based on machine learning from data collected by micro-spectrometers" (UD - Danang International Institute of Technology, 2019);

Regarding supporting students with job opportunities, startups and soft skills development, the two sides put into operation the "French Career Guidance Center" located at UD - University of Technology and Education (2023)...

Cooperation for sustainable development

This is the premise for UD to continue to enhance cooperation with AUF with the upcoming milestone of November 7, 2024, when the two sides will sign a new strategic cooperation agreement at the International Scientific Conference on Sustainable University Development, a meaningful academic event to celebrate the 30^th anniversary of the establishment and development of UD (1994-2024).

At the C2R-AP Conference, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu - President of the UD attended the Opening Session and in-depth discussions with current topics such as: "Artificial Intelligence and University Education and Research Administration" (Prof. Jean-Marc Lavest, President of the University of Science and Technology of Hanoi and Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Dien, Former President of the Conference of Francophone Rectors in the Asia-Pacific region CONFRASIE coordinated); "Dialogue between the academic world and the professional world" (Ms. Duangmala Phommavong - Secretary General of the Francophone Economic Community of Laos and Mr. Fabien de Geuser - Director of the French-Vietnamese Center for Training and Management CFVG coordinated).

its prestige and role of a core member in the AUF Network

As a core and cohesive member of the AUF Organization (since 1995) as well as with AUF members; members of C2R-AP for many years, the presence of the UD leaders at the Conference not only actively contributed to the large forum of AUF in the region but also vividly and clearly affirmed the international prestige of UD in the process of integration and internationalization of university education.
