On the morning of December 1, 2023, on the occasion of the 48^th anniversary of Lao National Day (December 2, 1975 - December 2, 2023) and the 103^rd birthday anniversary of President Kaysone Phomvihane (December 13, 1920 - December 13, 2023), Assoc.Prof.Dr. Le Quang Son – Vice President of the University of Danang (UD) visited and congratulated the Consulate General of Laos in Da Nang. Consul General Souphanh Hadaoheuang chaired the meeting.

Also attending were representatives of leaders of relevant units of the Consulate General of Laos in Da Nang; Representatives of leaders of relevant departments/centers of UD (International Cooperation, Center for Learning Resources and Communication).

Vice President of UD Le Quang Son highly appreciated and respectfully thanked the attention, coordination, direction and support of the Consulate General of Laos in Da Nang in the training and management of Lao Students at UD; At the same time, he expressed his desire to continue to receive attention and cooperation to create favorable conditions for the recruitment, training and management of Lao students studying, researching and living at UD’s member universities and UD’s affiliated units.

Recently, UD has been given priority by the Government to invest in developing UD to become a National University (along with 02 National Universities in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City), striving to truly be one of the 3 training centers and Vietnam's leading scientific research.

To realize this goal and strategy, UD attaches great importance to developing and cultivating cooperative relationships with universities, organizations, businesses, domestic and foreign partners, with special emphasis on building a traditional relationship of friendship, good and closeness in educational cooperation with partners of Laos, the representative of UD said.

UD has the potential and experience of more than 20 years of cooperation in training international students from Laos with many majors in training high quality human resources, including teaching-learning programs in Vietnamese, English, learning through interpretation as well as many short term training/interchange/student exchange courses.

Representatives of UD leaders expressed their wishes and hope that the Consulate General of Laos will continue to pay attention, support and connect to agencies, units, schools and the Lao community to create favorable conditions events, sending officials and children to study and research at UD, actively contributing to the socio-economic development of both countries in general, developing education, training and human resources in particular.

Speaking to the leaders of UD, Mr. Souphanh Hadaoheuang - Consul General of Laos in Da Nang sincerely thanked the leaders of UD for visiting and congratulating on the important Lao National Day, showing the close affection, strong friendship and cooperation; making an important contribution to training and supplying qualified human resources to localities and businesses in Laos; promoting Vietnam-Laos educational cooperation.

The Consulate General of Laos expressed its joy and support for the policy of developing UD into a National University in the coming time; At the same time, the Consulate General of Laos will strengthen connection and promote cooperation with UD.

In a friendly atmosphere, representatives of leaders and officials shared information about the development results and achievements of the two countries, especially in education and training, and exchanged information about the learning situation of Lao students are studying at UD as well as Lao students are studying Vietnamese at UD’s member universities.

Leaders of both sides shared joy and congratulated the National Day of the Lao People's Democratic Republic; acknowledged good intentions; affirmed to continued close and effective cooperation, contributing to cultivating the great friendship and special solidarity and cooperation between the two peoples for a long term sustainable.
